Model 3 Trunk Leak After Rain

I had the same issue with my Model 3 (2018). It rained heavily in the Bay Area, car was parked outside, level surface, for about 3-4 days over the holidays. Opened the trunk to find it was sopping wet, with water sloshing around in the lower cargo area (underneath the lid). Mould on the lid, and...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Sentry Mode - yayy yayy yayyy https://electrek.co/2019/02/13/tesla-sentry-mode/ "The field of view is limited to Autopilot’s narrow forward facing camera. After the release of the feature, CEO Elon Musk said that future versions will use more Autopilot cameras and have a parking mode."

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

EVnut - I think this may depend on how backlogged the Tesla service centers are, where one lives. I actually wrote to them a couple of times, called up the local service center and Tesla Body Repair Shop, and they always got back with the same answer - it's outsourced to third party "authorized"...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Thanks @Eno Deb It's what I suspected, but thought I'd ask anyway. Hope (and vengefulness) springs eternal :-)

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

In case it helps anyone, who recently had this happen to them in the Bay Area, and is looking for repair options: 1) Tesla service centers / repair shops do not do glass repairs. They will refer you to third-party shops who do. 2) Many bigger companies (SafeLite, that was recommended by my...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Yes - I was puzzled how they could push down the trunk with the hefty baby seat in the center (maybe had enough play in it, that they could still fold one down at a time). * Two seats may help - but from a safety standpoint, center of the back seat is the safest place for an infant/toddler...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

I had one baby seat in the back (center), when mine was broken into - it didn't deter them. Doubt that 2 would ?

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

So, my Model 3 (< 1mo new) had a break-in last Friday :'-( Apparently it's an epidemic in the Bay Area, and ~400 breakins per month reported, many targeting Teslas with the small window M.O. (For other folks on this thread, who've suffered a similar damage - commiserations) Time was, when the...

    Vampire Drain/Loss Tracking

Thanks for sharing judyjetson! Being a noob, I didn't think how much/how often I (super)charge the Model 3, would affect its retention capacity (but of course, it makes sense that it should). Still somewhat confused about the ideal SoC for preserving battery range (85%? 90%?), and whether or...

    Vampire Drain/Loss Tracking

Another data point: My Model 3 (mid-range) - was delivered recently (Yayyyy!!!) with 140mi charged. In 3 days, it lost 30mi, to 110mi. Over the next 16 days, returned from an out-of-town trip, to find only 48mi range ! So losing about ~4-5mi/day. Is this normal/typical? I didn't have any apps...
