Who knows what will actually happen, but historically, higher-optioned cars will depreciate proportionately more than the lesser equipped models.

What would it take for GM to retool the Volt to offer a sub-model that was a pure EV? I don't think it would be very difficult to do for them, and we might see this once battery efficiency improves enough to give it a decent range. However, Tesla has already taken steps to be very competitive...

This is why we've been waiting to get a Model S. We have a regular trip to a rural area that's exactly 250 miles, and there are no superchargers along the way (yet), and I don't want to stop at a campground for 2-3 hours to charge on what is otherwise a 4 1/2 hour trip! I'd hate to be 20 miles...
