    request for battery temperature data

Keith Ritter is our consultant. He's a PE, BSME. I'm a BSME. We publish our work on insideevs web site. Here's a link to our articles. https://insideevs.com/info/team/george-bower/ Keith is the heat transfer expert and wrote the spreadsheet for the Thermo-electric model we are discussing...

    request for battery temperature data

Do any of you Tesla owners have TeslaFi (or equivalent) data acquisition in your car?? The reason I ask is I need battery data to calibrate our heat transfer model. The particular question I have is the following: What temperature does Tesla heat the battery to when they pre condition the...

Help requested on simple thruster calculation

Finally found Musk quote. It's more like 10 thrusters placed around the car. "SpaceX option package for new Tesla Roadster will include ~10 small rocket thrusters arranged seamlessly around car. These rocket engines dramatically improve acceleration, top speed, braking & cornering. Maybe they...

Help requested on simple thruster calculation

Here's the numbers from the performance model prediction for acceleration with a 1200 lb (20 lb/sec) thruster and a 2400 lb (40 lb/sec) thruster. BXR140 commented that my 20 lb/sec thruster was a big one and I'm starting to believe him after doing some searching. I found some 1000 lb thrust...

    MCU with Bubbles

If the only problem is a bubble, then it is a lot less expensive to just replace the touch screen. I'm assuming you are out of warranty. you just buy a used touchscreen that doesn't have a bubble from a newer Model S. I got mine for 500$ (just for the part) and installed it myself. If you are...

    Buying a 2015 Model S85; Advice/Comments : )

It depends on your mechanical aptitude. I did my own door handle but I wouldn't suggest to a novice with no mechanical experience. and of course not ALL displays get bubbles or yellow bands. ..but apparently there are so many cars with yellow bands now Tesla has stopped covering them on warranty.

    Buying a 2015 Model S85; Advice/Comments : )

I had a 2012 Model S that was out of it's 4 year general warranty. First bit of advise. Never own a Tesla that is out of warranty. ALL model S's have screen issues. The early ones the screen gets a bubble around the edge that gets bigger and bigger because the liquid in the display leaks out...

Early Model S MCU Removal- Helpful tips not in the Shop Manual

If you own an out of warranty Tesla then chances are you will be doing some of your own work. I successfully replaced my door handle so, when my MCU display got a bubble in it I decided to tackle it myself. All it cost me was the 500$ for a used display w/ touch screen. The display w/ touch...

    I assumed 100 lb of air (mostly N2) discharged in 5 seconds= 20 lb/sec

Help requested on simple thruster calculation

Agreed I can't find it on a google search. BXR140 above commented that the thruster I calculated in the OP is a big one. Maybe the 1200 lbf thruster I'm looking at IS bigger than current tech.

Help requested on simple thruster calculation

I was referring to the thrusters that are by the grid fins.
