2012 Model S - Limp mode - BMS_w172 (Vehicle may not restart) , BMS_u008 (Acceleration and top speed reduced)

Hi, Do you remember what was the issue ? I have exactly the same error. Have they replaced the contactors ?

UPGRADING SINGLE to DUAL/ TWIN ONBOARD CHARGERS, possible? how? prog?

Upgrading a single GEN1 40A to 2x 40A is not an issue. I have done it before, it works. Upgrading from single GEN2 48A to 2x 48A also works without issues. There are issues replacing GEN1 with GEN2 chargers + GEN2 HVJB. I close HVIL properly, I understand well how the system works, but when I...

UPGRADING SINGLE to DUAL/ TWIN ONBOARD CHARGERS, possible? how? prog?

I was trying to retrofit a gen1 on board charger on a 2013 US model S with one or 2 Gen2 chargers. Anyone else attempted this? I managed to replace the gen1 with gen3 and it worked with no issues. But with gen2, after sw redeploy, contactors don't close and dcdc doesn't show up. HVJB was...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

But that fan never spins on the desk :) I powered it up directly to cool down the bloody Tegra. Does yours spin ?

But that is output from CID and input for IC, right? It should be 12V level, right?

    12V issue and "isolation"

Hi guys, Got almost the same isue, 12v battery discharged, car does not drive, contactors don't close. I suppose there is an isolation issue. I can see in BMS data isolation res. 3580 kOhms, which looks normal. I suppose this is internal isolation. It seams that BMS measures separate internal...

    Mennekes Type 2 Adapter

No, supercharger uses DC, + and -, not AC.It is the same in US and EU. Only the connectors are different.

    Mennekes Type 2 Adapter

I have gen1 chargers, so they are not 3 phase. They are 10kw 1phase each. HVJB is also gen1, and does not have relays for all 3 phase. Currently I am working on a setup with a modified EU gen2 hvjb and 3 gen1 chargers connected on each phase. I also intend to replace the us port with EU port...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

It seams that it does absolutely the same when connected to my car. I believe it expects specific can packets to stay awake. Somebody told me that it is immobilizer related and there is a procedure to make the charger learn a new immobilizer code.

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

The short time it stays UP (10 seconds) between reboots is not enough to even connect to it, the car does not have time to identify it, neither Toolbox does. It must have a signal, input pin on the 10 pin connector coming from HVJB gen2, but I can't test as I don't have another car to measure...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

Hello guys, no activity here for a while. I was trying to replace a gen1 charger and HVJB with GEN2 in a 2013 Model S. The car, as expected, does not recognize the new charger, as expected it needs redeploy to match the firmware on gw and charger. The problem is that the GEN2 charger looks like...

Was anybody replacing the gen1 HVJB with gen2, without replacing also the gen1 chargers ? I know the connector cables for AC (HVJB -> Charger) and DC (Charger -> HVJB) have to be adapted. Anybody did this already, is it working ?

Lithium 12V batteries are fine for warm climate regions. They must not be charged below zero degrees Celsius without preheating, as they get permanently damaged.
