Supercharger - Prairie Du Chien, WI

Ah-ha-ha! Go to supercharger.info, click on the Charts tab, and scroll down to the bottom two charts. These show the length of time all the sites currently in Permitted and Construction phases have been in those states. There are some/several that have been under construction for over a year...

    Supercharger - Maple Grove, MN

The SLP charger is getting busy more frequently. I live about a half mile away and we do our shopping at the Target & Byerly's, so I get to scope it out regularly. Last week (Tuesday?) in the middle of the day it was full and there were two more Tesla's waiting for spots to open up. OTOH...

    Supercharger - North Branch, MN

The transformer is ordered by the local electric utility. In North Branch, that would be the North Branch Municipal Water & Light. In Bloomington, it would be Xcel. Perhaps NBMWL is just be more on top of things and ordered the transformer a while ago. The lead time for such things was...

    Supercharger - Eagan, MN

The State of Minnesota Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan was just released today. Based on public input, the focus will be on putting (more) chargers along I-35 and I-94, which struck me as odd since there are already several chargers along those roads, whereas there are lots of parts of...

    Supercharger - Bloomington, MN

A year or two ago I was talking with the city manager for St. Peter about the DCFCs that ZEF was going to be installing there. The installation had been delayed because the lead time on transformers had gone from 1-2 months to 6-9 months because of supply chain issues caused by Covid and it was...

Looks like the pedestals arrived today.

    Supercharger - Cedar Rapids, IA

There is a pair of 62kw L3 CCS/Chademo chargers in Ames at the Kum & Go. You'll need either Tesla's Chademo adapter or one of the third party CCS adapters to use them. (Tesla is supposedly bringing out a CCS adapter...someday.) I agree having some sort of L3 charger in Decorah would be nice...

    Supercharger - Ellsworth, ME

Was passing through Ellsworth yesterday so stopped to check the status. Not much change. There was a digger there that was tearing up the ground just east of the pedestals (it was lunch time and I assume the worker was off eating somewhere).

    Supercharger - Bemidji, MN

I think a week is optimistic, though I would love it if you were correct. Is the meter installed?

    Supercharger - Marquette, MI

About a year ago I was talking to a fellow from one of the electric coops in MN. He said the lead time on transformers had gotten much worse because of Covid, and speculated that several of the DC fast chargers slated to be installed in MN would be delayed until the spring of 2021 as a result...

    Supercharger - Escanaba, MI

The catch is that construction, once it starts, usually goes fairly quickly, often just a few weeks. But then it is not uncommon for everything to sit there not powered up because the local power utility has to actually provide the power, inspect the site, and sign off on the installation...

    Supercharger - Mt. Pleasant, IA

You'll have to provide a citation to support your assertion that "most people who sit at local ones...have free supercharging". The use cases for SCs are myriad. There's a SC near my house; I never use it even though I have free SC'ing for life because charging at home is more convenient. I...

    Supercharger - Waterloo, IA

Get Tesla's Chademo adapter ($450). There are third party DC fast chargers in Ft. Dodge and Early (plus Emmetsburg and Sheldon). They're not as fast as SuperChargers, but plenty fast enough to make getting from Waterloo to Sioux Falls stress free.

    Supercharger - Waterloo, IA

Yes, I do wish they had put it on the other side of the west entrance. That parking area only gets used at Xmas time, there's no traffic going through that area normally, etc. Probably would have been more expensive though because they would have had to run power lines under the driveway.

    Supercharger - Waterloo, IA

Hmm. So, are the chargers to be angled? (i.e., rather than perpendicular to the traffic flow). That means to back into a charging spot, one will have to drive the wrong way down the row. Hope there isn't too much traffic on that row or it could be frustrating. At the SC in St. Louis Park, MN...
