What's the consensus on buying a used Model X? Need some advice

Why don’t you get the 3 for yourself and have the Y as your future family car?

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

Canceled my Lightning reservation today. I probably knew a year in advance that I was going to cancel. The kicker for me was when I would log in, it would show me the original two year old price of the Pro as if that price was available.

    When does Tesla decide...

... to put a demo vehicle on sale? Mileage or age or something else? In the new inventory section, I've seen reported ODO for less than 100 miles and more than 1000 miles. Just curious. And I apologize if there's an existing thread on this topic...kindly point me to it.

Roof Removal & Prep: 3/8, Roof Install: 3/22, Powerwall Install: 3/24

From your post to God's ears, the next time Tesla reduces the price of our project will be the first (and probably the only time). ;)

Roof Removal & Prep: 3/8, Roof Install: 3/22, Powerwall Install: 3/24

This was an AHJ rule. This is taken from the rejection letter: The maximum battery size is determined by both the discharge (kW) and the capacity (kWh). The discharge (kW) is limited to 150% of the PV generating capability. In this case, the proposed PV system has a CEC-AC rating of 6.35 kW, so...

Roof Removal & Prep: 3/8, Roof Install: 3/22, Powerwall Install: 3/24

Quick update: The title of this thread is no longer relevant. Our project is currently on hold because of .475. That number is the fraction of a kilowatt that our solar roof (as presently designed) is short of to support 2 Powerwalls. Tesla resubmitted our design to our AHJ to include the new...

Roof Removal & Prep: 3/8, Roof Install: 3/22, Powerwall Install: 3/24

When we put down our deposit on February 17, 2020, we didn't think it would take more than a year to get an install date. After upgrading our electrical service to 200 amp and installing a requisite main panel to go with it, we had to endure Permit Volleyball between Tesla and our city. Once...

Solarglass Roof install set for Feb 16-Mar1

Hey jboy210, I saw in another thread that you're waiting for PTO. Congrats! When was the install officially done? Were you given any indication of when PTO might arrive? I'm hoping you'll be able to finish your install document.

Need gutters....on a wait list for solar glass roof

Not sure if it's a regional or national change, but when I inquired about gutters they said they no longer offer that as part of the price nor handle the installation. Sure enough, after I accepted the payment details last week, they sent a referral for gutters which included this statement...

    Don't I need a new panel?

Well, I was prepared for a panel upgrade, but not a service upgrade. The latter would result in some landscape rearranging (if you know what I mean.) I've reached out to my utility to confirm if my service/panel can handle a 7.3kW system. Whatever information they can provide, I will pass on to...

    Don't I need a new panel?

I appreciate all the information that’s been shared thus far. So will a 20 amp backfeed breaker handle a 7.3 kW system that we've recently signed off on?

    Don't I need a new panel?

Thank you for the explanation, GenSao! So my panel isn't really "used up". It's just old and ugly. o_O But, hey, if I can save 2 or 3K by not upgrading, I'll take it.

    Don't I need a new panel?

I have no clue about a backfeed breaker. I assume you feel I need a bigger panel. The current plan we've been presented is 6.5kW, though I'm hoping to squeeze another .5kW out of our roof. We have 100 amp service.

    Don't I need a new panel?

Thanks, bob_p and jboy210, for the clarification!
