Version 8 improved auto lane change massively. However, today's rain knocked it out a lot as it could not see the next lane. So poor visibility will stop it working, particularly at night. AP2 will really fix this.

As the car's 3G connection is so naff, I intend to tether my phone so that I can get 4G (unless my car comes with LTE as some cars now have in the States). Surely this gets it working in most instances? Or is it still as bad?

Agreed that a a Govt subsidised EVSE is the way to go. Mine was installed the day I paid my tax bill so it felt like a bit of a rebate! It's great to hear about such a forward thinking Govt investing in the future. Tesla has invested wisely in a great supercharger structure which I think is also contributing to the Model S success there. The UK Govt gives a lot of help as well but does not penalise ICE cars as much as Norway...
