    Mat recommendations?

+1 on the Topfit, looks much nicer in person and offers much more comprehensive protection then others. Yeah they are expensive but wanted something that would last and not worry about any spills. Cheaper on eBay then Amazon. Small price to protect the interior of a 100K+ car ;).

+1 Anyone in SoCal get the tow retrofit done? If so which SC and what was the final cost? Thanks!

Rec for electrician in OC/Irvine area

Thanks! Did it include permit and inspection? So called probably about 8 different folks, I could get as low as $300 from a licensed electrician but didn't include city permitting and inspection. If you add that in then it boosts the costs, the permit alone is around $48 and then you add the...

Rec for electrician in OC/Irvine area

Hi I'm in the Irvine/OC area and looking for recs for an affordable electrician to install a 240v/NEMA 14-50 outlet in the garage and the cost you paid. My wife is giving me a hard time as we had the option to have the builder do it for $300 (no longer an option), now I'm learning it's always...

    Tesla PowerWall without Solar

Know you don't want to hear it but solar panels would help keep you out of tier 3 and tier 4 (not needing to do a complete offset) and you don't need to worry about time of use as it looks in your situation you can't really change your usage behavior. Need to do the math as switching to TOU w/o...

    Hello & Excited Here!

Right now at 35K, think I had the battery replace like <10K. It was a "propulsion failure", think it was a circuit issue but since it was 1st gen. They had all the dealership ship the entire battery pack back for diagnostic in the early days so they are learning about the various failures in the...

    Tesla PowerWall without Solar

What's your energy pattern now? Most usage during the day or most at night? Was the 6.4 kwh peak during the middle of the day? You only care about the peak usage during the TOU peak period as those are what you're offsetting. I think if you can shift your usage and use a device like the...

    PowerWall alternative

This company tried to talk to me after I installed my solar. Too startup working in a garage for me to take a serious look, though. Egen - Powering the World for Future Generations

    PowerWall technical discussion

Yeah curious on the scheduling capability. Ideally, you have the Powerwall charges at night when the rate is real low and then during the peak time it can power your house while your PV generates at the peak rate. Also didn't see any mention but direct DC to DC fast charging to the car doesn't...

    Hello & Excited Here!

Huh, also have a Volt (2011) (1st gen) never had to bring a car back in for so many recalls (4 times so far including one just last week for a software update and emission replacement!) and one that included a full battery replacement the first year which took it out for almost a week :(. I...

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Nice! Guess you can go to different galleries if your local one is not so generous :). Know this is a S forum, but wondering if anyone got anything for their X res? I did hear select sig users got some stuff for their loyalty and patience :).

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Did you ask for the freebies after you mentioned your order? Or more something along "BTW just ordered a 85D, do you know how I can get some free Tesla stuff to go with the car? :)"

    Best low maintenance color now?

Why not wrap? I did notice that solid white is back in the design studio, guess they can't make up their mind!

    Best low maintenance color now?

With solid white out, what would you say is a good low maintenance color? I've always heard light colors: white or silver to hide scratches and dirt. Any multi-coat is hard to touch-up due which is why I was trying to steer away from pearl white. Curious to hear from owners, the best color...

Vendor New Tesla Keyed and Vandalized

Comprehensive insurance should cover. Otherwise can buff and do some fill-in to make it less noticeable, if you don't do a repaint. Is it deep (does your fingernail catch if you run perpendicular)? If not then buffing is possible otherwise you'll likely need wet sanding and repaint. Little...
