    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I typically buy new, and if I like the car, I'll keep it for a long time, 10+ years and over 150k miles has been the case with about half the cars I bought new.

Want a vehicle that will require tens of thousands of dollars in repairs before hitting 150k miles, buy the BMW. I'm also hoping that the new Model 3 will at least match the M3 Comp from 100 - 200KPH.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Actually, I'm hoping that the Ludicrous, assuming that is what it is called, trashes the BMW and can knock off a 2.5 to 60, but I'd still be pretty happy with matching a perfectly launched M3 Comp in 0-60 and 1/4 mile. The effortless way in which Teslas launch is one of their biggest advantages...

At this point, the 2.9 is a rumor, and we have no idea if it's supposed to be with or without rollout. If it's real and without rollout, then 2.6 to 2.7 with rollout would be expected.

It does cost a lot more, but it is common to cross shop an M3 with a Model 3 Performance. As for the 0-60, BMW's official specs are notoriously conservative and the 3.4 is without rollout subtracted, so it's very, very close to last year's Model 3 Performance. Car and Driver got 0-60 in 2.8 with...

Supercharger - Bryce Canyon City, UT

Yes, I think making money is one of Tesla's goals with the Supercharger network. I don't think that was initially the goal, but I think it's the case now. Pushing a universal standard makes sense, but Tesla shouldn't be helping anyone else build out their own charging network unless they get a...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I think a special edition is a good idea for a vehicle where you know there is pent up demand. That way the company can maximize its profits, while not disappointing the early adopters too much when the price is lowered for almost the same thing later. And assuming it's a "Ludicrous" edition...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Regarding the price for the updated M3P, I think Tesla will try to optimize overall profits. Assuming that the various speculations end up being true and it has improved acceleration and handling, different seats and interior trim, and different nose and rear spoiler treatments, Tesla will...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Since I have a friend who has a recent Model S LR, I really hope this is true, at least up to about 120. 😁

I hope you're right. If Tesla does that, it would put the M3P back in the same position it was in when it first came out in 2018 relative to the competition. I think the M3P is the main reason that the competition stepped up their game so much over the last 4 or 5 years.

Amazingly common among humans, called human nature.

I bet Elon has been made aware.

I stand corrected. I must admit that I often regard what Musk has to say as overly optimistic or hyperbole. I think he just screwed up on this one.
