That makes sense, but I had my key fob with me both times, and the car should automatically unlock when I'm holding the keys and standing next to it. So it is strange that I could pull out the charger one time, but not the next time!

I gently push it closed. When I try to push the handle, there's no resistance behind the door so you kind of have to use two hands to push the handle. I just don't slam it.
