Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

And it very well could be. Under 170k sets the stage for lots of FUD. There is a sliding scale, whether we like it or not on the growth. Shanghai is up and running with both the 3 and Y. Failing to significantly outpace 2020 Q1 that had Covid issues and not as much capacity gives room for that...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Getting awfully accusatory there with that April drop nonsense... we can have posts here without that. we just disagree with how disappointing production/delivery numbers would impact the stock. I hope I’m wrong and actually I hope they deliver 180+K and the stock soars. My statement isn’t...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Kind of a dickish post to be honest. If you don’t think tslaq will attack at even the slightest thing or that certain entities are willing to entertain fud on nonsensical things... you haven’t been paying attention. I’ll keep buying tsla and I’ll keep buying leaps. If it dips further in April...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Tesla has more lines and refined production since Q1 last year. Not having significant growth from Q1 2020 would be a massive miss. Of course they are going to analyze based on last year in comparison. They are going to project on having Shanghai ramped. Y production going there. Y production...

Every quarter, those estimates start creeping back up in the last 10 days to start matching the Twitter estimates (my tinfoil hat is a number key in to Troy's numbers). They've only gone down by about 4k. The big Twitter numbers are all over 170k, some pushing up to 177k. We will see that number...

Yeah... I didn't say it was rational or that I thought that. Just that the market is setting up to react like that and really hit the stock with the FUD. Less production/deliveries than Q4! 170k paces under 700k for the year! Imagine when the chip shortage hits Tesla, under 600k for the year! No...

I personally have a sinking feeling on mediocre Q1 production numbers. They will still be great when you look back, but I'm expecting under 170k and the market to pile on FUD about missing 50% growth. :(

More referencing their PR campaign last fall on how they were the new best EV and had the best tech.

Agree and the delays at Tesla, by Musk's own admission had them on the edge. I keep coming back to the idea that Lucid came out last fall and claimed they'd have the longest range EV and how it was so much better than the Model S.... and it was coming out soon! This is the Model S beater that...

Longer-term options are a real pain to fill right now. The bid-ask spread is wide and nobody seems to be lowering their ask. Only got one fill so far, but maybe I'm just being a cheap ass. :D

Certainly not going to be able to time the bottom, but today is going to be a bloodbath. Time to scrape together all the pennies I can find and try to find an entry on some leaps.

Yup... don't disagree. We just shouldn't be shocked at when those types turn their back on Tesla like Gary did. He'll come back around and I think it will be when Q1 production exceed 180k as he can easily fit it into his viewpoint.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I mean yeah... I'd argue that any analyst just looking at the number of cars Tesla produces just misses the overall point. Those analysts certainly exist though and those numbers having more clarity would help them value. There is a reason traditional auto analysts simply have missed the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No... I'm not saying that. I'm saying being vague and saying 'we expect 50% growth yearly with 2021 having the potential for more than that' is vague enough they can't attribute a solid number to it. 750 is too low for what Tesla is clearly expecting, but the difference between 750k and 900k are...
