Adding a hot tub after whole house Solar + Powerwalls, don't want it backed up

Sounds like poster might want something like this : grid goes down, hut tub running, kill hot tub. Could try a relay attached to somewhere on the supply side of the gateway (E. G. Feeder) with relay (NC) output run to a shunt trip breaker installed for the hot tub. Use opto isolator or whatever...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Sounding like Tesla has created even more naming confusion than needed with the Powerwall plus. Sure looks like the "plus" is a essentially a pw2 (it has same base partnnumber?) with a PV Inverter added to it for some amount of array (maybe up to 7 or 8kw of panels.?) Also sounds like they...

Solar inverter died but PWs are still up, Is there a way to get the system to charge the PWs during off-peak from the Grid?

As far as I can tell, the Powerwall is able to charge from grid, completely software controlled by Tesla. The issue is what the utility company and or state regulations allow. With calif/pge, and if you have solar array, it seems the only time they want you to charge from grid is for an...

Solar inverter died but PWs are still up, Is there a way to get the system to charge the PWs during off-peak from the Grid?

Sorka, he's describing a Delta inverter, not SolarEdge. E. G model M8, "mtool" app to connect via blue tooth.

    Notification of powerwall app update

I never saw an actual notification when the gateway 2 firmware updates itself. It even downgraded once a few weeks ago, then later updated to a different FW version. Never was any notifications. You can see the FW version by either logging into the gateway directly or its shown, as bmah noted...

National Grid and Tesla Backup Switch [PV + (1) PW+ and (1) PW2]

It seems telsa is wanting to replace the util Co meter now, without even telling the utility about it? This backup switch appears to be completely in place of the electric company's meter. I guess if I was the EC I would be thinking 'no way' too...

    Tesla AC Powerwall *2.1* installed?

Tesla may be creating yet more naming confusion. I have 3 of TPN 3012170. There is no indication that it has additional built in solar inverter or 4 mppt. Which is what this link says a "Powerwall plus" has: How Powerwall Works | Powerwall Support Could it be that they actually mean "when it's...

Tesla switched inverter to Delta (no optimizers) from promised solaredge (with optimizers)

in that top image your panels look like they are pointed pretty high, even for summer. try a solar angle calculator, heres one link: Solar Angle Calculator put in your location to the calculator to get the angles. I think you would want to put your panels closer to the spring/fall angle if...

Tesla switched inverter to Delta (no optimizers) from promised solaredge (with optimizers)

My graph has never looked as good as that June 6th you posted, nor have I ever hit a total kwh daily that is that high. The "yesterday" graph is more like most of my days. It looks like your array is not putting out as much as mine, but it's angled lower too. Mine is at the roof angle which is a...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Can you elaborate on the "associated inverter" pls? Did they install the new telsa inverter instead of e. G. SolarEdge or Delta? Maybe post a picture. And what is the model number of the PW, e. G. The "TPN" rather than the top label showing 2.1, etc.

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

In the upper right of your picture is a rj45 connector, just to the left of the 4 communication terminal blocks. Connect your ethernet cable to that. The gw2 defaults to DHCP and will ask for an ip addr from your home lan/router. The gw2 will still stay also connected via wifi, and cellular. So...
