    Nope, really not enough.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Thanks for the detailed analysis. This has to be the most informative post in this thread. Your numbers for the Model S LR motors example have me drooling (had to wipe the floor with a beach towel!). One big question is whether the battery can provide that much juice. Given that it's...

    Replika R241 Wheels

Hello. I'm getting these wheels for the winter in replacement of my current Uberturbine (I have a 2022 m3p). On the site where I'm ordering (wheelwiz) they suggest an "installation kit" which includes LUG NUTS/BOLTS, KEY & CENTERING RINGS (copied from their description). Is this necessary...

Going from 2017 Model S to 2022 M3P, any downsides?

Just a followup. I finally went to try a M3P 2022. I was really impressed with the compliance of the suspension, especially considering it was on the 20" wheels. Highway noise level was acceptable. I placed the order!

Going from 2017 Model S to 2022 M3P, any downsides?

Thanks everybody for the feedback. Next step will be to go try one!

Going from 2017 Model S to 2022 M3P, any downsides?

Hello. I'm currently considering selling my 2017 S75D, out of warranty, for a brand new 2022 M3P (available supposedly between June and August), for at least a year until my next car arrives. I know the model 3 is smaller and not hatchback like the S, but it will be considerably faster than my...

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Hello. Just wondering if anything was discovered about the noise. I have a 2017 S75D, with the clunking noise at the front, and I'm considering the Arnotts.

    380 WH/MI

I have a 2017 S75D with around 30k miles on it. Current average is 384 WH/MI. I'm not driving as fast as you, but the winter is killing my efficiency. On long road trips I've done in the summer (like 1,000 mi), my average would be 280 driving mostly around 70mph. In town in the summer it's 320.

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

Another possibility, the gearing. For the front motor the ratio is now around 7.5 : 1. It used to be something like 9.5 : 1 before. You can check it in the 2021 S user's manual. Assuming the motor spin about the same speeds that would explain in part the slowness off the line. Side note. I...

Dragy times for Plaid and LR

Just to add a bit of perspective, in case people don't realize how fast that number is, Car and Driver tested a 2019 M5 Competition. They got 6.8 for the 0-100mph. And 3.0 for the 0.60mph. Link here, The BMW M5 Competition Is the M5 You Want. In other words, the base S matches the top of the...

2 permanent magnet motors in the new LR refresh, source of the higher performance?

Adding to my previous post, if we assume the old S was peaking at 70mph, and assuming the motors are the same (which is not necessarily true), then doing a rule of 3 with the new ratio would give around 86mph for the peak power. I guess once we get dyno runs, etc, we'll get a clearer picture...

2 permanent magnet motors in the new LR refresh, source of the higher performance?

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but to me this is big news. This is mentioned on page 212 of the owner's manual. The previous S had a permanent magnet motor at front, and induction at the rear. Also I noticed the drive ratios are now 7.558:1 and 9.034:1, compared to 9.325:1 and...

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Just a followup on my previous post. I got the car serviced last week. In addition to the air spring modules I got the upper control arm replaced, So far so good, but it's only been a few days. Let's see if it returns in the next weeks/months.

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

I finally got my notification from the service center that parts had arrived. Scheduled for Nov 27th. I'll report back once it's done. Also I'll try to find out whether they consider the fix to be permanent or not. I'm curious to see what they have to say about it.

    Questions on HEPA filter upgrade.

I was considering updating my 2017 Model S with the HEPA filter option and had a few (several!) questions: - for those of you who did the upgrade, do you consider worth it? - once you have the filter can you enable/disable it? or is it considered always on? - how long does the filter last...
