Pictures of 245/45R18 tires on Model 3. Hoping to reduce curb rash.

I put Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires on the back. I left the factory 235/45R18 tires on the front because they still had a lot of tread. At highway speed, I started getting traction control warnings (nearly continuous) and the car was dumping out of autopilot. I thought I had gotten myself into...

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

I tried that (that's a trick I use as well). In this case, however, it puts you through to a showroom elsewhere in the state. When you tell them you need service, they say you have to call the service center and the showroom has no involvement in service. At most, they will forward your call...

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

Hey! I did what you said and drove to the TSC this morning. Just like you said - there were 3 people there behind the desk; all of them ready to speak with me immediately. I confirmed they have the parts, but all the bays are booked until next week; I've got my answer. I ponder... with the...

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

A sacrifice, when you own a Tesla, is that repair options are often limited to Tesla Service Centers only. "Not to worry" I was told; Tesla service is excellent... No. It isn't. I made it 8 months before needing a repair to my Model 3, but now I've broken a side view mirror. I was surprised...

    Autopilot lane change ping-ponging

I had that problem bad with 2019.5.15. With the upgrade to 2019.8.3, it's pretty much gone.

Auto Pilot and Cruise Control for Software Build 2019.5.15 has Serious Problems

I'm happy to report improvements after installing 2019.8.3 last week. Here are my observations following 3 busy days of city driving and a long weekend trip. Phantom braking (sharp braking without obstructions present) is almost gone. I experienced 2 occurrences - once on a curve where...

Auto Pilot and Cruise Control for Software Build 2019.5.15 has Serious Problems

It doesn't seem to be friction braking. It feels like maximum regen braking, but with a dual motor, that is significant. I installed 2019.8.3 last week and it's doing MUCH better.

Auto Pilot and Cruise Control for Software Build 2019.5.15 has Serious Problems

Good way of looking at it! I ***LOVE*** my Model 3. And I love being part of the development. I wish there was a way to share my notes with Tesla about these builds - instead of having to post stuff here and hoping that Tesla will somehow see it. But, maybe this works okay because others get...

Auto Pilot and Cruise Control for Software Build 2019.5.15 has Serious Problems

Good idea. I've just got to take control of the situation faster. There's a temptation to see if the software will dig it's way out; I shouldn't do that in traffic.

Auto Pilot and Cruise Control for Software Build 2019.5.15 has Serious Problems

While the previous software installations on on my Model 3 have worked very well, 2 weeks ago my car updated to build 2019.5.15 and my car's performance immediately changed for the worse. I have cleaned the camera lenses and windshield glass to make sure that is not the issue. Here are the...

$2,000 Full Self Driving upgrade now available

I found out that the purchase option is only available through the online account. You bring up your car and click manage, then scroll down and click on "autopilot upgrades". Currently, the option cannot be purchased from the car or the app; you have to use your online account.

$2,000 Full Self Driving upgrade now available

I purchased EAP in October 2018. Is FSD available for 6 month old purchases? If so, where is the option on the car's menu? I'm having a hard time finding it; perhaps because I already have EAP.
