SpaceX Starship - Orbital Test Flight - Starbase TX

    Superchargers and Oklahoma

We recently went on a road trip and I was astounded at the lack of superchargers in Oklahoma. In neighborhing Texas there are nearly infinitely many superchargers now. Oklahoma is meanwhile barren, and it isn't a question of demand. Oklahoma city has a single supercharger location, and it was...

    New M3P have lowered suspension?

Lowering springs are just absolutely garbage in every way unless ALL you care about is the looks. The car will get slower around a track, bottom out more often, wear your shocks out, handle badly. It is just bad. We people who say this come from having tried it when we were younger and...

Wiki SpaceX Manifest and Launch Cadence

Cool, so if that cost is real then maybe we see ~$40 million dollar launches if Neutron or Relativity space come online with similar offerings. That might enable a lot of use cases that aren't currently viable.

Wiki SpaceX Manifest and Launch Cadence

I'm curious about the cost of a F9 launch, and the price of an F9 launch. Does SpaceX currently have huge margins, such that the cost for others to get to space could come way down as soon as a competitor exists?

We probably need 1 more medium lift partially reusable vehicle to push prices down. Here is hoping Rocket Lab Neutron will do it!

18’’ vs 19’’ Wheels on Long Range

Wheels in an of themselves have very little impact on range. It is the tires on them that have big effects, and at larger wheel sizes your options for economical tires goes down. There are aero designed wheels which have a small improvement in range, but you can get those in almost any size...

    Upcoming M3P hairpin motor question

Just remember an efficiency improvement on something that is already deep in the 90%s on efficiency won't be a big deal. Better than nothing though!

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Death by a thousand cuts. Or profit by a thousand cuts. A thousand silly optimizations make for one huge improvement.

FS: All your charging adapter needs! CCS, Nema, and brand new Mobile Charger! (Austin TX, will ship)

I have a new in the box mobile charger, $200 shipped includes a 14-50 and a normal wall outlet adapter Telsa CCS Adapter: $125 This lets you charge at Electrify America and other non Tesla fast chargers. Lightly used, works perfect.

Tesla Semi’s EPA range rating will simply never exist…Here’s why

Battery packs should too, the economics work out best when you put a ton of miles on the car in a short time. If the car sits a lot the batteries just sit there aging being wasted.

    hitch options thoughts

Yeah that is probably what is going on then, Ecohitch is advertising the limit for the vehicle and DrawTite is advertising the limit for the hitch.

    hitch options thoughts

There are two common options for the model Y aside from the factory one: DrawTite with a 525lbs tongue weight limit: https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Tesla/Model+Y/2023/DT58MR.html Ecohitch with a 350lbs tongue weight limit...

Tesla Semi’s EPA range rating will simply never exist…Here’s why

There isn't a step change in battery degradation at 100%. Its just a little worse at 100% than at 90%, which is a little worse than 80% and so on. Nothing wrong with charging to 100% before a trip.
