    Windshield Replacement

I was in your exact position this last summer. Safelite had to source the glass from Tesla, they could not locate any available 3rd party glass. I preferred the Tesla SC option due to warranty coverage. Think auto windshield wiper function. I submitted to Geico the pre-work estimate to...

    Valet service & Mobile Access

I too share a concern on Mobile Access deactivation. I approached the local SC and asked that they consider the policy. In short that mobile access remain active anytime the vehicle is traversing public streets. Once it is at the SC, I understand the need to deactivate (e.g. assume the HVAC...

Day trip Austin-Plano tomorrow. Advice for a quick charge in Plano/Dallas?

Have you considered your return route via Corsicana supercharger? That would drop an easy 40 miles off the Waco-plano-Waco round trip and should be easily covered in an 85.

Need The Opinion Of Others For My Purchase

Building on some of the thoughts others have posted here as well as being another Texan, enjoy the test drive and find a way to get all of your questions answered either via Tesla or other owners. In addition to funding your mortgage and car payment, how does the retirement savings contribution...

Attn Future Model S owners in Texas! PLEASE READ!

For what it is worth this is the same process I lived through a year ago (end of Nov '12). The one thing we can all do is let our representatives know that TADA does not represent our interests and the law needs to be corrected to permit a start up from establishing a direct sales model. BTW...

    Houston, TX

DITTO KenEE, very well put. I too have this exact combo, from the same providers and fully echo this sentiment.

    Decreasing rated range.

tdiggity, I am bummed to say I think I have beaten you. My 90% standard full charge has came in low at 207miles - late last month. Prior to this time, I too was babying the battery with regular ~66% SOC slider setting. I have since performed a few slow "trickle" charges dropping amperage...

    Texas Supercharger Locations

Went by Columbus yesterday around noon. Physically all pieces appeared in place (individual chargers, cables and the power platform built to comply w/ 100 yr flood plane). Photos above are great, thanks for taking the time to snap the photos. Work crew was on site. The work crew shared...

    Car Show Poster: Draft

I want to say thanks to the contributors on this thread. The "Car Show Poster v6" was a hit at a recent fundraiser car show put on at the local pre-school. The organizers (school teachers) were impressed with the quality and presentation of key information (read ... Gold Star earned) and so...

UMC won't open charge port without fob

I have noticed this. If I understand your situation. Your car has been sitting/parked for a while (e.g. In your garage.) You do not have auto lock when you "walk away" from you car set and you did lock lock your car. You come out to your car in the evening to plug it in for overnight charging...

    Texas Tax Due Date

Very true, I consider myself lucky to have missed not having to deal with your headache. With some of the forum chatter about qualifying your Tesla for Texas sales tax exemption, I believe this would be the most influential factor in getting the legislature to wake up and change the dealer...

    Texas Tax Due Date

Ours was delivered back in Dec, back when the TX process was being refined given all of the dealer law noise. At the time, payment had to be confirmed before the vehicle could be loaded to leave the factory. And that corresponded to the MVPA date. Even with that requirement and the...

Paint Armor on high mileage cars?

I'm on the side as others posted above. Have 10,500 miles on the car over 9 months. I went with aftermarket Xpel Ultimate with full hood protection and fully recommend it. Installation was quality and no issues like stated like the Tesla sourced film. There really is a difference in film...

    NHTSA crash tests results/videos

YEAH!!!!! I know that Elon has made this a key criteria, but always good to see in formal results. Here is the NHTSA website should take you right to the Tesla Model S page. Looks like they are still updating the detailed page. 2011 & Newer - Search Results | Safercar -- National Highway...

Tax Rebate for Installing 240v Outlet?

This credit was on the books for the 2012 tax filing year. As Paualllup Bill points out getting the IRS charging credit while also filing the 7,500 vehicle credit leaves next to nothing (pennies) in the form calculation. I am sure if you found a way to spend >$5-7k on the installation there...
