FSD 12.3.3 first drive - safe, super boring

Been using FSD for a few days and getting more comfortable with it and trusting it more to do the right thing. One thing that clearly seems better to me is the performance in stop and go traffic on the highway. With regular autopilot, it seemed a bit erratic - accelerating too hard, not...

FSD 12.3.3 first drive - safe, super boring

Got the free trial today and really wanted it to perform well, but it did not. Way too stressful to use regularly. In just a few miles of driving I experienced the following: 1) moving in to a turn only lane and then realizing it make a mistake and quickly darting back to the other lane (no...

My two Tesla overhead charging solution

it could be laid on the ground, but then I have the same problem - the cord needs to be removed from the M3 to remove the MY from the garage. My solution is to allow the MY to come and go without having the unplug the M3. And some kind of protection on the garage floor for the cord does not...

My two Tesla overhead charging solution

I saw this video, but this would not work for me or, I think, anyone with two Teslas. No matter how you position two Teslas in the garage, the charging ports will not be close to each other like this guy has with a the Leaf and Tesla - if the Leaf were a Tesla, he could not reach the charging...

My two Tesla overhead charging solution

Yes I considered that option. Other than it being 3x the cost of the arm, the second charger cord would still have to be laid across the trunk of the M3 to charge and the arm also elevates the cord when charging the MY, so I can easily walk next to the MY without jumping over a cord. Seemed...

My two Tesla overhead charging solution

Thanks. I did notice the cord was separating from the body when I installed the arm. I ordered a holster.

My two Tesla overhead charging solution

My wife got tired of me draping the charging cord over her Model Y, so I devised this overhead charging solution. I wanted the get the "EV Hover" product but they discontinued the 9' version and the 6' version they sell is too short for my needs. So I devised my own. The arm is a dock light...

Squeak / rubbing noise coming from doors

I am posting this solution to hopefully benefit others. Ever since I received my M3LR, I have had noise in the passenger front door and, more recently, both rear doors (never the driver's side front door). I would describe it as a leather on leather rubbing noise. It has really made me crazy...

    iPhone Mini Charging?

Diagonal placement works for me every time. Top right of the phone is slanted towards the right of the charging mat.

Fix for rear seat belt buckles rattling against the side of the car

Just notice where the buckle lies against the plastic and locate your tape around that area. I think I used two strips side by side - each about 8" long. As long as the tape is black it is not noticeable.

Regenerative braking setting in V. 2022.16.1.1

Yes, this feature is not mentioned in the release notes in my car. So that begs the question why I did not get it? I have a 2022 Model 3 LR. It even has the faster processor.

Regenerative braking setting in V. 2022.16.1.1

And why would it apply only to "specific hardware?" And what does "specific hardware" mean anyway? - models?

Regenerative braking setting in V. 2022.16.1.1

i just downloaded v. 2022.16.1.1 and the release notes state the following: "Your vehicle can now automatically apply regular brakes for consistent deceleration when regenerative braking is limited due to battery temperature or state of charge. To enable, tap Controls > Pedals & Steering >...

Another Model Y or go with a Model 3?

Our first Tesla was a Model Y LR since we needed the space for the family and we were replacing a 3 row SUV. A few months ago I replaced our second car (BMW 535i) with a Model 3 LR. Since we did not need another car with the space of the Model Y, the 3 was an easy choice - cheaper, longer...

Confused about "Enough Charge to Continue Trip"

I guess if I were arriving at a destination that did not have any charging capabilities and the nearest Supercharger was some distance away, I would not want to arrive with less than 20-30%. Since my destination last night was my home and I have level 2 charging in my garage, I will use the...
