    Seatbelt installed backwards

Wow! Now I feel pretty dumb ;). You're right, it only took me 2 minutes to fix the issue! For the seat being loose, the SC has to order a new one so it'll be a couple of weeks. Seem weird that they need to replace the entire seat, but it seems to be the norm for the issue.

    Seatbelt installed backwards

I've had my Model S 70 for a little over a month and have been pretty happy with the car (though I did have an issue on delivery where the door would pop open every time I unlocked the car). I've always thought the seatbelt "felt funny", so today I compared it to the passenger side, and what do...

    Bay Area Boost NVX Installers

NVX suggested Kar Tunz in Pleasanton. They did an awesome job on the install. Total was $315 and it took less than 3 hours since they've done it before. The system is awesome and I totally recommend their services!

    Insurance: Is this possible?

I just received my quote from Allstate for my 2013 Ford Fusion and 2015 Model S 70 and it's $2,700 for SIX MONTHS! $1,500 of this is Collision and Comprehensive on the Tesla. It's pretty clear that Allstate has an issue with Teslas. I just got a quote from Geico and it's $1,032/six months for...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Even if you get the failure rate down to .1%, that's still 1 car out of 1000 that will have the issue, so I'm not too worried.... I did take a friend for a ride in the car and she thought that the door popping open was one of the coolest features. She was pretty deflated when I told her it was...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Picked up my Model S yesterday afternoon. As soon as I got it home, the passenger door started to pop open when the car unlocks. Called Tesla and I have an appointment for Friday AM. They sounded really concerned and wanted to get it fixed ASAP. I still freaking love the car, so it's hard to be...

    Bay Area Boost NVX Installers

Picking up my Model S Tomorrow afternoon (CAN'T WAIT)!! Instead of getting the Premium Audio, I went with the base and bought the $999 NVX Boost Audio Kit. I've done audio installs myself in the past, but this one kind of scares me. I was wondering if anyone else in the Bay Area has had this...

Leasing: Where does the $7500 Fed. tax credit go?

I had an e-mail conversation with my financing person. Here's the key info: Money Factor: Always 0.0016 (3.84%) - Not great and significantly more than most manufacturer financing. $2,500 deposit would be subtracted from the $11k so math is slightly off. When I asked about the $7,500 credit...

Leasing: Where does the $7500 Fed. tax credit go?

Not sure about the deposit, but per the quote below, it would appear not. That's not accurate. Sales tax is charged on the monthly lease payments. As you can see below, the quote excludes those. So, would you agree that Leasing is a terrible idea in this case if there's any chance of someone...

Leasing: Where does the $7500 Fed. tax credit go?

I'm not sure there's a bank involved. On my quote for the Lease, it listed Tesla, but for the loans it listed TD Bank. Based on the quote provided, if I lease my $77,700 car, and then pay the $48,424 residual to buy the car, I've paid Tesla $87,531 over a 36 month period ($11,000 Down + $2,500...

Leasing: Where does the $7500 Fed. tax credit go?

Something with Tesla's leasing is very fishy. I applied for "Both" options and was given a pretty crazy quote for the lease. I've asked the finance person to provide me with the money factor, and the Adjusted Capitalized Cost they're using. The only way I can get the numbers to work is with a...

Just got notice that my production was pushed back by a week.

MyTesla doesn't have a delivery date/estimate listed (And yes, I've looked in the "Pickup" section and it's not there).

Yet another buy vs. lease thread...

I do see your point, but the $37k is a worst case scenario from Tesla. Based on current Model S prices, I think it's pretty likely that the price for a 3 year old Model S will be > $40k.

Yet another buy vs. lease thread...

I was going to lease.. Until I ran the numbers... Here's what I worked out: Base Model S70 (I'm in an area with no now) - with options $76,500. Leasing with 15k/year: Deposit: $2,500 Due at Signing: $5,272 Total: $9,069 CA Tax Credit: -$2,500 Total out of Pocket: $5,272 Payment: $961/month with...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Overall, it's not a big deal as long as I can have the car by Christmas. If anything, it's more of a curiosity thing. I wonder if there might be a "pause" coming up or something...
