The send a certificate of origin, you got to take it to your dmv to register/pay taxes. Then they will title the vehicle and send it to the lien holder. I don’t know if you can buy if that hasn’t happened. Maybe you can, I don’t know

Louisiana is the same. But we have to pay taxes before selling the vehicle

Can a new buyer purchase if the vehicle hasn’t been Registered?
