Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

They replaced all 4 rotors and brake pads at the last repair. Said it was a rotor quality control problems. It is crazy really, we barely used the brakes, and the rotors are warping. I don't know much about cars, but I have never thought the rotors were the primary problem... just a symptom of...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

The car is shaking again.... I think its time to turn the car in. Calling a lawyer to look into our options. I honestly don't think the service department knows how to fix the car. I am so sad, I really love my car.

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

The car drives BEAUTIFULLY and I have frequently driven in different Model S cars (my dad and sister both own the Model S, as well as a colleague who introduced us to the Tesla). My acceleration is awesome and I don't feel a drag on the car. The range seems on point with the car (we have...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

I haven't been involved in much "watery" driving and the car is parked in a closed garage (although the summer rains are coming). No rust noted on the rotors (so they tell me). It would be crazy to think that the Tesla people installed the rotors incorrectly over 3 different attempts. I am sure...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

Yes they eliminated the "driving" as the underlying cause of the warped rotors. They pulled the driving logs and found nothing exciting about how the car was being used.

BTW. I just checked my Tesla sheet. They noted warping on front and back rotors, so it does sound like a systemic problem (or a batch of crap rotors that melt when used).

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

So... we picked up the Tesla and spoke with Management (whom BTW are excellent in customer service) and they said.... "the car vibrates when the brakes are applied, front and back rotors warped". Which is basically all they could figure out. Engineering has no comment and said... replace the...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

Quick update for anyone reading this thread and experiencing a similar problem. Tesla did a road test and analyzed the driving data from the car. They finally said that our driving was not the problem.... big sigh of relief. However, that means that they are not sure what is causing the warped...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

Also. I wanted add that these are factor rotors and everything is standard Tesla. No upgrades. The car is an 85.

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

Definitely not using the left foot to drive or brake in any way shape or form. I don't sit on the brake pedal, although at a light sometimes will, so I don't roll away. Also, if my driving style is affecting the brakes, then why has this never been an issue in other cars? Before the Tesla I...

Need advice on recurrent rotor problems with 2014 Model S

Hello Forum, I am looking for thoughts, experiences, and advice on how to deal with my ongoing Model S rotor problem. I purchased a 2014 Model S with 40,000 miles and auto park/ auto drive, jump seats. This was a certified pre-owned car. I received the car in November of 2016 and began having...
