Usually the reason was that there was no car. When I would call and actually get through either service center or main line (if I get through) the representative would say something along the lines of "Hmm, you have no VIN or car assigned, let me talk to my team about this and get back to you"...

My configuration is exactly like yours, but I reserved July 2017 and ordered Aug 2018, been reschedule 6 times, 2 VINs, yes its frustrating hearing people receiving their cars in a few weeks....
