    Supercharger - Akureyri, Iceland

Hello, It appears that the parking spots now have painted lines to indicate the intended orientation of vehicles. However it seems that the actual charging units have now been covered. Maybe Tesla expects longer than anticipated delay? - JN

    FS: Model S mirror glasses

Bought original Tesla parts from the local service center in Helsinki. - JN

    FS: Model S mirror glasses

Swapped EU style aspherical mirror glasses on my Model S and now I have both of the US originals left over. These are heated and auto-dimming versions. In excellent condition, no scratches etc. Only thing to note is that one of the mirrors has lost one of the eight tabs attaching it. Still...

    Battery fan problem when supercharging

P85D here and it seems my heat exchanger fan/AC compressor are driven by cabin AC setting. If cabin AC is off, the HE fan and compressor immediately go to 100% duty cycle upon plugging in to SuC. If cabin AC is on, it seems to be in control of the HE fan and compressor and the speed/DC is...

Super Charger Adapter for US cars in Europe

This is illegal* per the current laws in EU and thus not possible. - JN *(illegal as in the vehicle would not comply with the local regulations as mandated by the law and thus, would not receive type certification)

Max range for EU (NL & BE) MS LR 2020 raven

Why would you compare EU model to US model? The official range figures use different standards (EPA vs. WLTP) and are obviously going to give different ultimate numbers. Then there is the setting for displaying "typical" vs. "ideal" range. Please check that you're actually looking at the right...

Very slow charge rate from 85-90% on a level 2 charger

Please see attached picture. Taper starts from 96%. This is 2015 Model S P85D. (In the picture amperage jumps back up because I turn on heating, but charging rate drops.) - JN

Very slow charge rate from 85-90% on a level 2 charger

Second this. I usually see taper on our home 32A home charger maybe only after 93-95%. Up to that point it's full 32A and even then at 96-97% it's still +25A. - JN

    Superchargers in Iceland

...and here we have the confirmation. N1 setur upp hleðslustöðvar um hringveginn með Tesla I guess Klaustur and Staður are pretty much clear, but I wonder if the Akureyri SC is going to be built at the Hörgárbraut or at the airport N1. - JN

    Superchargers in Iceland

Somebody should talk to Vök Baths about EV charging as well.. and to GeoSea if they get on a roll. But I was hoping that the SC site would be closer to N1/Miðvangur, where all the services are. I guess also Egilsstaðir was the only location where there was any amount of guess work related to SC...

    Model Y vs Rivian R1S

I have physically seen both vehicles from very close distance. R1S is significantly larger than Model Y. As has already been pointed out, Model Y is more of a mid-size cross over and R1S is real 4x4 comparable to D4/FFRR. - JN

    The situation in Iceland

I've also emailed the planning commission in Klaustur and asked whether any permits have been filed yet. They have not answered yet. Also all the meeting minutes for the commission can be found here: Skipulagsnefnd < Fundargerðir < Stjórnsýsla < Skaftárhreppur - JN

    The situation in Iceland

The locations for Icelandic SuperCharger sites have been added to the Tesla map. They are Staður, Egilsstaðir and Kirkjubæjarklaustur. All are marked "Target opening date to be confirmed". While not enabling driving the ring road on SCs alone, the gaps (Akureyri and Hofn/Jökulsárlón) have good...
