Tesla called back and said it was an error on their end. They are processing my registration now and will send me a print out of the plate . I will need to drive with the print out of my permanent plate for a week or two before receiving the actual plate.

Just did a 14 mile drive mixed highway and local. Used 6% battery. Weather is 100 degree. Car parked in the garage overnight before the trip. Looks like cooling down a hot interior is going to take a lot of battery, but once it's cool the numbers are pretty reasonable.

I feel 62% battery for 120 miles, mostly doing 80+ in hot desert is not bad. My guess is cooling down the cabinet costs a lot of battery.
