Run flats...sort of like the restaurant where not only is the food bad but the portions are small too. Been there done that--never again.

PG&E has been continually moving the goal posts. So I am on EV2-A but have 16kW of PV solar and 2 Powerwalls. I use the PW to cover from 3-9 pm and of course charge cars after midnight. We still have to cook dinner (electric oven) and do laundry before 9 pm. Dishwasher runs after midnight.

Indeed--the upside of a PPA is guaranteed production. The downside is more cost to me and they get the tax benefits etc. But interesting that Tesla just fully upgraded the system.

Just another vote for Discount Tire/Americas Tire and their warranty certificates. Even with a new Tesla, I drive it to them and they will sell me the certs. FWIW I have been insured with AAA/CSAA for many years. I choose to pay the extra $10/year for zero deductible glass on both of our Teslas. Worth it IMHO.
