Yes normal - the dealers are just showrooms/service centres. They tend to just deliver cars to a collection centre and certain locations offer delivery.

I took one for a demo and used that for example insurance costs. It popped up and asked have I owned the vehicle since July 2021 which was when it was registered.

If a demo car then it has to be registered to be allowed on the road. They don’t use trade plates for demos so you’d be the 2nd owner.
