So if a car is still under warranty, what should the values be, before considering the chip to be so bad that you could require a repair?

I noticed that in /lib/misc there is a file called emmc-vitals-history where data is written from a script in /local/bin. There seems to be a counter that is counting downwards. Is Tesla monitoring the wear of the eMMC memory chip?

So, i need to get my hands on a "ready to install" MCU to have that emmc card cloned, then they could restore it?

Just wondering, would it be possible to install a new emmc chip either blank or with the software you a re able to get out of it, and then drive down to Tesla and have them reinstall the software on the repaired MCU? I guess, that when Tesla installs a "new" MCU it will be with the same type of...

I have the exact same problem, it started in june. The pre history on this, is that the car was not connected to any WiFi sp apparently the navigation maps would not update to the new version that Tesla released sometimes around may. And in June the car then received a new general firmware...

Well Google has just been fined around 2.7Bn USD for violating EU anti trust laws. For unfairly favoring some of its own services over those of rivals. This could apply to Tesla as well if EU went into looking at how Tesla is doing their business favouring their own service centers...

We have had this problen on and off for a year now. It always comes after a software upgrade, stays there for a month or to until next upgrade, then the problems is gone for a while until the next upgrade reintroduces this problem... At the moment we have the car alarm disabled...

As others have already said, happy wife = happy life. My wife loves her car so much, and I have to ask politely if I want to try it out to :-) But as long as I love my Model S as much as she loves her Model X, the family is all happy. I would not hesitate to go for the Model X for the wife...

Yup, the charge port can now open and close automatically. But I do have problems when using a supercharger that the handle cannot open the port. Others that have had this issue? We have experienced this on every supercharger testet through Germany and Switzerland. /Martin
