I'll quickly chime in here with my 7.1 AP experiences. I've driven about 2000 miles with 7.0 AP. I got 7.1 last night. One of the features is better right lane exit detect/ignore. I was testing this on my way home tonight in busy freeway traffic. I was in the right lane and the 2 cars in front...

I printed the plug holder in black and it looks/works great.
Took a trip to visit the family in AZ this week. Since Tejon and Harris Ranch were fairly crowed on my way out, I decided to avoid peak times at Tejon this weekend (12/26/15). I left Tucson 10 AM on 12/26 and drove straight though (idea being drive a few hours and nap for a few while charging)...
Unless you are very handy, skilled, have lots of energy and love projects do not go there :) There are people like this (wk057 for example) but as far as I can tell they are very rare :-)
I saw one last week when I took delivery. Looked really nice and I would have no doubt bought one but I had a similar Bellboy iPhone case on order. So I got a $30 Tesla Tee-shirt instead (*cough* *cough*)
Another option that I saw someplace was red covers. I think I remember reading that they have the advantage of being a heat sink. OP - did you look into this? I'm considering this and would be interested in your thoughts since you've seemed to research this a lot more than me.
Haven't taken delivery yet so I can't speak from experience but I suspect one the that would make a difference is if a car is in front and in it's field of view.
Wow thanks for the warning. I know it was probably difficult enough to get pictures on a busy street but it would help your case to have a ruler along side and vertically in the hole to show the depth.
