Still not sure about battery display!

I've been using miles/kilometers since 2013 on my MS. It's a fixed miles/charge. In other words in EPA standard conditions it will go the indicated miles. Half the full mileage indication is 50% charge. It tells me how far I can go running the battery to 0% charge under EPA conditions which are...

    12V Battery shortage??

Just had mine replaced on Mon. due to a total failure. The car was totally dead in my garage in the morning. I had to jumper the car to get it to Mississagua SC. I guess I must have got one of the last ones. They replaced it on warrantee.

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

I'm sure it's just limited to a fixed % of the 75kwh battery so would show proportional degradation. That's how the 40's worked.

Software limited batteries as they degrade

My 40 was limited to 68% of the 60kwh battery. In other words it would degrade at the same rate as a 60 that never charged over 68%. I expect the new 60 and 70 do the same.

Future Model 3 Owners In Ontario

Hate to say it, but as an MS owner who lined up at Yorkdale, I would be surprised to see mine before 2019.

The quantity of CPO vehicles in inventory has dropped significantly

Probably sending them south for the bigger $.

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

Picked one up Saturday at Tranmere. They have one left. I'd be happy to loan mine for a refundable deposit. Maybe we should have a sticky thread for CHAdeMo loaners.

True 60 kWh rated range and Toronto to Michigan route planning...

I've upgraded my S40 and now get 320 rated km on a range charge. I used to get up to 220 rated before the upgrade. I also did the Supercharger upgrade. I'm planning to drive to Oshkosh WI for Airventure via Superchargers this weekend.

    My Baby got sideswiped today

In Ontario it's No Fault insurance, so I'm sure your own Insurance will pay. Just make sure they don't assign ANY part of the fault to you as they will use it to increase your rate. If the other driver was from out of Province, then his insurance must pay according to fault. Don't let them screw...

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

My car missed it's originally promised Father's day delivery due some updates that needed to be done, so my wife talked them into giving us 2 winter jackets, 2 hats and 1 extra J1772 adapter. She's VERY persuasive

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

ChaDeMo is DC so the adapter does not need the dual chargers. It does require the Supercharger capability. I have the Dual chargers and have used their capability many times on Sun Country CS90 chargers.

Heat Driver's side only to save energy?

What about the case using recirc? If no cold outside air is used to reduce the passenger temperature then no energy is wasted. The overall cabin temperature can be lower if the heat is directed to the driver only. Kia obviously thinks this works to save energy.

Heat Driver's side only to save energy?

That may be so with A/C which is much more efficient at transferring heat than resistance heating is for creating heat. Modern A/C can have a COP of 5 or 5x the efficiency of resistance heaters. Resistance heating, as in the MS, can thus have a very significant effect on range. I'm just trying...

Heat Driver's side only to save energy?

I believe the Kia Soul EV can restrict heating to the driver's side to save energy and thus increase range. Would this strategy work for a Model S or would the cooler air coming in the passenger side eat up the energy savings? The Soul probably shuts off the outside air to the passenger side to...

    CHAdeMO adapter wait frustration

"***NOTE: A vehicle software update must be performed at the service center if Supercharging is not enabled." Does this mean that the CHAdeMO adapter can be enabled without enabling the Supercharger? I have a 40/60, so would have to upgrade to a 60 to get supercharger capability. I also...
