I walked straight to the trunk few minutes ago (without my phone key) and was able to open the trunk with no issues.

Sounds like a faulty key fob. Car entry has been 100 % ever since I started using the new key fob.

I ordered mine yesterday. Please keep us posted on how the new key fob works. Also, can you drive the vehicle with just the key fob?

Thanks for the information. It never occurred to me that additional components are required for the inactive speakers. I would hold off on upgrading if cost is in the 1000s. I rather spend that on wrap or tint before audio.

So I spoke with Tesla CS today to see if activating the pillar speakers was an option for SR+ owners. They advised me to bring my M3 to a SC and see if they can push a software update to activate them and check for pricing. Luckily I have an service appt this weekend already so I will check...

I had the same question. According to online research, the front pillar speakers are installed but not active. And it does not seem like anyone knows if Tesla would be offering to activate the speakers for an additional charge. If anybody knows, please chime in.
