I know I vote for a Branson supercharger when it’s on the tesla webpage, but I’m noticing that the belton one was never up for voting. Makes me think the vote aspect is just “advertising” touch points with the community and there are plans for everything anyway.

SilverGS has the answer. It was a software update maybe in 2019? The older S’s have drastically nerfed charging speeds. My 2013 S barely gets 50kW past 40% state of charge and typically settles into the 30s above 50% state of charge. I’m sure an actuary crunched the numbers and by “protecting”...

I understand your hesitation but if I can do it, anyone with the tools can. The Service Center would be able to take care of you but be prepared to pay for the entire assembly instead of just the light bulb. Which may actually be the root of your light going out, just depends.

I’m guessing it’s a “soft opening” like a restaurant does.

At this point out of warranty, I’d rather have the option that reduces battery capacity in exchange for supercharging speed.

I believe 85 batteries got nerfed supercharging at high speeds a while ago. I’d look for a 90 battery for chemistry.
