    FSD bug: minimum highway speed

On I16, from Macon to Savannah, the FSD speed went from 80 mph to 40 mph over 10 times, that is every time there is a panel indicating a minimum speed. As usual, the I-16 traffic was very light, no car on my tail. It is very annoying, it did not happen with the previous software version.

    FSD bug: minimum highway speed

Since I enabled the latest FSD software (version 2023.44.30.25), I am getting unexpected speed change on highway. On I75 and I86 highway (in Georgia), on the side of the road there are panels indicating "Speed Limits 70 mph" and others indicating "Min Speed 40 mph". Every time I pass a panel...

    Sensitivity of “auto” wipers

Here is my theory why the Tesla auto wipers (relying on the camera vision) have some issues and will never be as good as cars with a dedicated IR rain sensor. The 2 camera lens are set less than 1" behind the front windshield, they are seeing a very small section of the windshield and are...

Can you install a wall connector horizontally?

The install direction (sideway, upside down) should not matter but if installed outside, and exposed to rain, it may matter. I do not know if the top part of the wall connector is more waterproof than the other sides or not.

    keep unlocked and 2nd location

Add me to the list for not locking the car at a second home. At the second home, I have to kill the Tesla app on my iPhone before opening the door and exiting the car. This prevent the auto-lock feature.

    Aluminum Wire for charging

This is exactly what I suggested in post #5. Looking closely at the picture in this brochure, the wires to the disconnect box are Al and the wires out are Cu...

    Aluminum Wire for charging

When we build our house, we asked the electrician to pre-wired for EV charging in the garage. We did have an EV car at that time but all the electrical wiring is copper. In the garage, he installed a service disconnect box, identical to the one for the 2 AC outdoor units. These boxes have screw...

no traffic re-routing-- would premium connectivity make a difference?

I do have the premium connectivity and Full Self driving. I do not trust the traffic avoidance in the Tesla navigation. Most of the time, I know where I am going but I do not know the real-time traffic ahead. There is currently a lot of highway construction around Atlanta. Everyday I used Waze...

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

We have a 2020 MYLR FSD beta with 44.6 K miles. We experienced many phantom braking events, too many to count. Recently, the Y brake or slow down when a police car or an emergency vehicle is detected by the car cameras. This happens when the emergency vehicle is on the other side of a divided...

How to transport skis safely in Model Y

FYI, according the configurator, the ski bag does not fit in my BWM 430i. The width between the two rear seats when the middle one is down is 9 1/2"

    Sensitivity of “auto” wipers

BMW and other car companies are using an IR sensor to detect rain on the windshield. Tesla is unique, they use the camera to detect rain in the windshield. The problem, the camera sensor is immediately next to the windshield. It cannot focus on the rain drop. A bug hitting just in front of the...

    14-50 Home charging breaker disconnecting

I had many time the GFCI breaker trip when it was humid and then car charging port was wet from the rain. I sprayed silicon lubricant on the charging connector and the charging port. I removed the excess spray with a paper towel. The silicon spray lubricant does not conduct electricity (better...

    14-50 Home charging breaker disconnecting

Is your 50 Amp breaker a GFI breaker? A GFI breaker has a test push button on it.

Aluminum wire for Tesla wall connector

Aluminum wires are used for electrical wiring but you have to use an anti-oxidant compound at each connections when exposed to air. Search: "Noalox Anti-Oxidant Coumpound"

    CCS Adapter - ?

Tried my new Tesla CCS1 adapter at a Electrify America station near my house. Took about 1 minute to communicate with the car before starting charging at 73 KW. Arrived at 44% and stopped automatically at 85% (the set charge limit). It was free. I did not precondition the battery as the EA...
