I've installed a small amp (400wrms) to the OEM sub in a '22 RWD (16v car) without any issues in the car. The amp seems to be staying on all the time but that's something that can be worked on at a later date. I have a '21 Performance with a 3800wrms setup without adding a second battery. The...
It depends on what wiring is going to be disconnected. If it's an all in one unit, you need to protect the bare wires since one should be power and one should be ground and will make a bright and brief light show if they touch. If the amp is to remain in the car and only the sub/enclosure is to...
Not all 51R's will fit. I have an XS Power that won't fit. It's just slightly too big in all dimensions. Make sure that you verify that the replacement will fit.
Having used a few sets of Focal's in the past (not the ISU200) and competing with Hertz Mille's in my Accord, I would expect the Hertz to sound better than the Focal's. In my opinion, using the largest driver in the door is the best way to get the best sound up front that you can, hence the...
First thing that is suspect for me is the basic line output convertor. I would look into a quality version (like an Audio Control piece) and verify that the wiring you've used is the correct signal for the amp.
Since you've got the standard audio, it should be similar to what you get out of the midranges. I don't remember what I tested them to be, but it'll be fine for feeding most decent quality line output convertors.
That stinks!! Please keep us informed of what happens.
For what it's worth, my '21 M3P went to the local service center for the same issue before Tesla admitted to the software fault. They said they would not honor the warranty due to the "added weight of the sound deadening" that I added to my...
I put two Phoenix Gold Ti21600.5 amps in my '21 M3P. I did not install a second battery though it wouldn't hurt. I used the relay/resistor to make the car not respond negatively. I don't think you'll have any issues.
FWIW, My 2021 M3P with the premium audio (though all speakers are replaced, and aftermarket amps power them) does the same click but I seem to notice it happening when there is an audible indicator being generated by the computer (as in, a turn signal sound, or turning on or off of cruise...
If I had to guess, I'd say the OEM sub box is about 0.3-0.5 cu ft, about what to be expected of an 8" driver. I was able to mount two amps and the relay/resistor in the spot where the OEM sub/amp used to reside.
