You realise that California bans lead based hardeners in paint? That’s why no one else makes cars there. The paint is renown for being too soft and chip prone.

My Fremont made Model S I bought in 2014 had the worst paint I've experienced on a car. It was very soft and the stone chips were incredible. Given that China doesn't have qualms about lead hardeners in paint, Shanghai cars may be better, but I wouldn't be without PFF on my Model 3 when it comes.

I’m a March order and my delivery is supposed to happen by the 10th of Sept.

My car is probably on that ship. I had a delivery date of 26th Aug - 9th Sept. I doubt they’ll make the 9th.

I had an extended warranty on my Model S in Hong Kong. It is a limited warranty and it may not cover the light. I kept the email that confirmed my purchase of the extended warranty.
