No LATCH in 3rd row, solutions?

We have a 2022 refreshed X six seater and one infant (rear facing) and two 3 year old premature twins. All 3 child safety seats require the use of the latch system and the over the back tether strap. The manufacturers are clear that the adult safety shoulder belt can only be used when the child...

Time is Running Out: Plug In Electric Vehicle (PEV) Pilot Program Ends Soon

The PEV Pilot program in California, that would allow all electric or plug in hybrid cars, to charge at the EV rate set up by your local utility. It's called the PEV Sub-metering Program. Each major California Utilities (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E) has set up a sub-metering program; as an example here is...

How much do you tip Tesla Valet?

I haven't tipped anyone who has picked up, delivered or repaired my car at home. It's part of their job and I'd be surprised if they would or could accept a tip.

    Destination Charging at Hotels

I live in the SF Bay Area and am very satisfied to use J1772 chargers. I have only found one hotel that I've stayed at in the past 12 months with a charging station. I have no problems traveling from the very South Bay to San Francisco and returning home if I've charged to max charge. If...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

I've found service to be pretty good about these things. When you take the car in just add it to the SO and they should fix it for you. I would recommend not mentioning the power washer since the owners manual states the car should be hand washed. It broke of sometime while I was driving, is...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

It's pretty simple, if you have your foot off the accelerator then the brake light comes on when you go into regeneration mode. If your foot is on the accelerator (just a little) even in regeneration mode your brake lights do not come on. IMHO, I don't need an led to distract me, if I want the...

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

Yes I have unistalled the app, rebooted the phone to reset memory, and reinstalled and I still get the 21" wheels. I know this is a minor annoyance but it did work at one time. I'm hoping that the app development folks at Tesla read these threads and can tack action in the future...

Things you may not have discovered about your Model S?!

This is a great thread. I learned a few things this morning about the car that I've owned for 6 months. The seat front pouch, the charger adapter storage, rear seat release and phone call mute/unmute/disconnect. Thanks for putting this together.

    Phone App: iPhone/Android app

I noticed when my iPhone app updated, a few months ago, that the car graphic changed from my as built (showing standard wheels) to the 21" wheels. I called Ownership and they were clueless. Any idea how to get my actual as built graphic back? My Teslamotors.com home screen shows my as built...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

These are a few of the software driven features I'd like to see: 1. Have Google Map display direction of travel instead of North Up all the time 2. When in Navigation mode have the next turn box (white rectangle on Google Map screen) movable, If I'm traveling north and my destination is in the...

    Sirius/XM reception issues???

I to am having more drops outs of signal. I knew of 3 spots in my Acura and Prius that had consistent drop outs in the south bay, 87/85 interchange, Hillsdale Almaden underpass and 101/85 interchange. Now it occurs under most large interchanges and tunnels, hardly ever dropped in tunnels...

    New CO fees for EVs

Wow, I don't think it applies to out of state visitors since it will be billed to the owner of record in CO. I hope CA doesn't try that, I already paid $673.00  for vehicle registration. It might go down $30 bucks next year, I think that pays for my infrastructure contribution.

17" Monitor Not Switching from Night to Day Mode

Glad to hear 4.5 fixes the issue. Been waiting but I guess I'm not tall enough to have gotten the update. With that said I had an interesting experience this morning. The map screen was in night mode but my radio screen was in daylight. So I went to full map screen mode and the dam screen...

17" Monitor Not Switching from Night to Day Mode

Thanks for the comments. Since my dash changes when it should and it's only the maps I believe the sensor is OK, where is the light sensor? I guess what I'm looking for is how prevalent the issue is and who, other than myself, has reported this to TM. Also this started after version 4.4 was...
