    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

Fine, you make good points. I think demand could be huge, it really just depends on whether the Gen III is priced reasonably and if Nissan/GM/etc has put together a viable alternative by 2016. I am just wary because I think shares could drop if Q3 falls short of expectations or other bad news...

What other tech stock to consider?

Good analysis. I just think the value of the stock is wrapped up in the IP, and how secure that is is questionable.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

I could be wrong. I'm not trying to come in and here and be a naysayer (though it seems that way). I've followed the stock for awhile and been consistently surprised. But won't everyone eventually use the technology and margins will drop? Can TSLA's patents stop that?

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

I'm not a short, I'm a fan of TSLA, and I agree that it is massively disrupting the auto industry and all the big players are playing catch up. All the reviews make it clear that not having a big engine in the front, massive instant torque, and low center-of-gravity make it great fun to drive...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

DaveT, I'm not a short, I'm just making an observation. You're right the whole market is very frothy right now, Tesla isn't the only company with an extremely optimistic valuation. It's a great company and will likely grow to be a major player in the auto industry and at the right price levels...

What other tech stock to consider?

Here's what I know about Universal Display (OLED). This short seller Manuel P. Asensio has been going hard at it, and scared the market into a ~9% drop in one day a few weeks ago (it recovered ~4% the next day). A lot of the value of the stock is bound up in its patents for OLEDs and the legal...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

I have to say that TLSA at 180+ is absolutely nuts. There is no way to justify this valuation, it is a pure momentum play. It's only a matter of time before the price feels the inexorable pull of gravity. Maybe things will hit 200+ before the balloon pops though, so good luck to the bulls!

    sleepyhead's Q2 Earnings Preview

Yeah thanks Sleepyhead, you nailed it with your analysis. Though this may be the last ER to catch Wall St. off-guard, I'm happy for everybody who got in early and enjoyed the show today.
