FSD upgrade changed to $5k after delivery. Seems like some existing owners can still order for $4k, but some are getting it for $5k. Wonder if this is somehow related.

Similar thing reported on Model S forums: FSD upgrade option disappeared from My Account AFAICT, common theme seems to be that MCU 2 cars do not have the option anymore.

Can you guys report your build date? I have a 2018 MX delivered on 6/13 and am also missing the option. Seems to be missing on MCU 2 builds.

I really hope you are right on the DS being accurate, cause my DS and my account page have different info. My DS told me 2-3 week delivery and already in production. My account still shows as scheduled for production....

Thanks for the info, i've been pondering the exact opposite. Going from my confirmed X to an S. Honestly they are both great choices, and I've never called and asked because I am not even sure if I want to switch. Wish I could afford them both :)

Did you make this change on a confirmed order? If so, did you have to pay the $500 change fee?

Better yet, look at the google spreadsheet. Look for orders that happened at about the same time as yours and/or orders from your same location. This should give you a better picture of the time it will actually take.

Especially true when comparing this to the model 3's PUP. For $5k you get leather seats, power folding mirrors, power seats, premium audio, seat warmers, glass roof, a center console and a wood trim. Problem is a lot of people are willing to pay $6k which gives Tesla no incentive to split this up.

This is the reason I want them. While i lack hands on experience, every post i've read has indicated the seat warmers to be more energy efficient than cabin heat, thus helping increase (or rather maintain) range in the winter.
