Mystery solved! The jar is a deodorant used to mask the oder coming from the black mats.

Just received my ToughPRO Tesla Model X 6-Seat Floor and Trunk Mats. They came from Amazon with a plastic jar of a soft, white substance. The Mats didn't come with instructions so I don't know what the contents of the plastic jar is used for? Can anyone tell me or where I can find use instructions?

Thanks for your re-phrased comment, @Rich_M. I understand your skepticism that "... a piece of thin plastic isn't going to be much of a buffer...." The RimSavers I bought only cost about $60, and I hope I never get to test that statement. ;-)

Nothing is going to protect the rims if you intend to damage them by intentionally driving into a concrete curb. Yes, I briefly considered Alloy Gators but saw they wouldn't fit my 22" rims. Then, I found the RimBlades site and thought their "Scuffs" product would be compatible with my 22" Onxy wheels, since the installation instructions include a primer step that's used after cleaning the mounting...

My Model X is scheduled for June 30 delivery and I would like to install rim protection for the wheels. I recall reading at least one product isn't suitable to protect the rims on the black 22" onyx wheels. Are there alternatives that _are_suitable to protect those wheels? And, can other forum...

I confirmed my MX on 5/13, @Amoroso6, so I would expect your's to be produced ahead of mine. But, because you're in NC, it will be interesting to see when your MX will get to youR SC for pickup. I've scheduled mine to be picked up at the factory.

Here's what my DS said on June 7: "It looks like your vehicle will be going into production in the next 2 weeks. Once that happens I will be sure to reach out and update you." This coming Tuesday will be two weeks since I received that message. Longest two weeks of my life! (VIN 79xx)

IMHO, attempting to predict when production will begin, based upon VINs, is an exercise in futility. There must be at least several other factors the influence when the vehicle will begin construction. It is a very interesting way to pass the time, however.

Thanks for your post, hjscm. My VIN is in the same sequence, 79xx, but my status still reports that the vehicle is in the factory production queue. My DS said he would contact me when my MX P90DL goes into production. Well, I'm hoping it will be around the same date as your's.
