    Fisker Karma

I saw a Fisker at a UTI car show last month. The UTI mechanics are being trained to maintain and troubleshoot the Karma. Every mechanic that I talked to had nothing good to say about the car except for its looks. The software, electronics and the integration of electric drive with the ICE...

    Random Roadster Sightings

Westtown sighting Could the owner of a dark blue roadster seen at Westtown school on March 28, 2010 contact me? Thanks

    Service recommendations

(I did a quick search for a similar thread, but didn’t find it. If there is one, then I would appreciate it if a moderator would move my comments to the appropriate area.) Since Tesla does not have service centers all over the country yet, some of us may need to take our cars to non-Tesla...

Does the Roadster qualify for the $7500 tax credit?

Good document, but there's still some conflicting wording. My 2010 roadster was purchased in August 2009. The document says the credit is only good for 2008 and 2009 models (I don't think there were any 2009 models, were there?), but it also says it's good for vehicles purchased before...

Does the Roadster qualify for the $7500 tax credit?

I was told by several Tesla employees that we would be eligable for the tax credit. I would feel seriously mislead if this were not the case. Can somebody from Tesla comment on this please? Maybe this should be posted on the owners web site. I didn't see it there the other day.

    Tesla drifting

I really like the regen for driving around town, but on the track I enjoy the ability to adjust the car's balance by throttle steering. I'm not even sure that turning regen off would really give the correct effect. When I've topped off the car or driven it when it's very cold, the lack of...

    Tesla drifting

What about throttle steering? I couldn't find anything in the manual about disabling regen. I don't think throttle steering would work as well if regen were still on. Has anybody tried throttle steering in a Tesla? How did it go?

Should EVs Make Artificial Sounds at Low Speeds?

Agreed. It would be more efficient if we required flashing lights and beepers on the blind than on every car.

    Living with a Tesla Roadster

My son and I hit a dear the other night. We were going slowly when it jumped in front of us and I was almost able to stop, but we still hit it. At first I thought we got off with no damage, but on careful inspection it looks like the driver door is slightly out of alignment and there are some...

    Living with a Tesla Roadster

I’ve had my Roadster since August, but have haven’t put too many miles on it since my daily commute is about 5 miles. Things I would change (I’m sure many of these have been mentioned somewhere else) Floor mats keep sliding forward. They need to install hooks or something to keep them...

    Roadster 2 iPod dock

I connected an iPod cable to the USB in the center console, opened up the console and tucked the wires back inside to neaten things up. The iPod actually tucks further in than the 2nd picture shows, I just lifted it up a bit to show how things connected. Flickr Photo Download: iPod 002...

Peking to Paris - the Green Class

I didn't see any costs listed on the site. What's the price for this event?

NHTSA Complaint wrt Regen and TC

I've had something similar to this happen to me twice, but in neither case was it as severe as this person describes. Both incidents were while traveling at low speed and hitting a bump. In both cases the car was not charged fully so regen had been working up until that point. In neither case...

The two features I use most...

Efusco, Thanks for bringing this up. I've wanted a "view new" feature for a long time, but didn't mention it because I'm more of an observer than a contributor. Now that I know where it is, it will make my lurking activities much easier.

    The reality of tesla?

Under steer is as much a product of the suspension setup as it is the front/back weight distribution of the car. Most car manufacturers bias their cars towards under steer because it is a much safer setup since over steering can result in a spin and total loss of control. If weight...
