Yes- I asked about that case of goodwill as well :) Likely done because of the publicity he generates for Tesla with his Youtube page. Tesla SS confirmed that they would be replacing it with a refurbished 60.

Unfortunately, all the ones I've seen so far are higher than the $11k quoted from Tesla.
