Nope. That’s not it.

Mine is happening in the daytime without headlights on and behaves differently from a fob press. There’s no double chime sound when pressing my fob to lock or unlock the doors while driving. Only the map lights come on.

Tried the fob to unlock doors while driving and only the lights came on. No ding ding chime... must be something else.

I had my 2017 100D in for this and they repaired it same day. All better now. Free - under warranty still.

Newer ones also don’t have the chrome in the bottom center of the back. That’s the easiest way to tell.

I use a 50A 220V circuit and my Model S draws 40A at 220V with a generic NEMA 14-50 outlet. Cost me less than $100 to install.

Actually, no - my wife decided she didn't want the car after I already put $3500 down on it and Tesla wouldn't let me back out... Either way, I've got my money so I'm not harmed one bit by the "problem" - I just think it's absurd that they're not ready for this scenario yet.
