Anyone still rocking a Pi Zero W smart drive for TeslaCam on Sentry Mode?

Old thread, but another option for a UPS for the a Raspberry Pi (even the more power hungry Pi 4) is this board: LiFePO4wered/Pi+ It uses a LiFePO4 cell, so should handle more charge cycles and is less likely to "thermal runaway" on you.

    EV plates getting popular

It's great that they are roughly sequential. You get a peak into when someone joined the club. My kids call them the "ELon" plates. :-)

Where to get tires/wheels switched in the Schaumburg, IL area?

Let us know how it goes. I took mine to the Schaumburg location to get a chunk or metal out of a tire (and to patch it), but they were able to remove it without any patching. I did ask if they had the jack pads for a Tesla, and the guy knew what I was talking about, so that's good.

    Supercharger - Elizabethtown, KY

When we drove through heading to TN, I did note a few "Coal keeps the lights on" license plates. Will do, one in Elizabethtown, KY would be nice. Tesla is in the unique position to see the location of every car, it's SoC, when/where/how they charge. It'd be fun to work on a SC planning tool...

Supercharger - Louisville, KY (9500 Preston Hwy)

Wow, the "Construction Plans" document is quite detailed. Now I know the red LED assembly the illuminates the Tesla logo uses 130mA. Happy to see this one going in for North/South travel. The Sullivan University SC (2120 Gardiner Ln) gets busy, and last time I went through I had a lot of...

    7 Seater Pics and Details

Do the third row seats have occupancy sensors? If so, the car could take of that if the HVAC is running in "auto" mode. If you detect people in the back back seats, to paraphase Douglas Quaid: "Give those people (fresh, not recirculated) air!".

Cleaning Inside Windshield or Front Camera Lenses

Based on the parts catalog, and this still image from the video, it looks like there are two Torx T10 screws to remove... and maybe 1-2 more on the tabs on the glare shield, hard to tell from the video (circled one in yellow).

On the highway: Unable to drive / Vehicle shutting down

Agreed, things also get a little fuzzy at step 12. They mention you shouldn't install the new battery until that step, but then in step 13 they mention to make sure to reconnect the high voltage controller harness connector before reconnecting 12V power. There are some formatting issues, so...

Glovebox USB port. Is it 2.0 or 3.0?

Just saw this tweet on that topic: https://twitter.com/greentheonly/status/1338942535792816128?s=20

Cleaning Inside Windshield or Front Camera Lenses

Looking at the Tesla parts catalog to get a preview of the disassembly, it looks more involved than I thought. Not sure what they mean by "SINGLE SHOT" in the part description. It can only be used once? M3, RVM, GLARE SHIELD, SINGLE SHOT Part Number: 1530259-00-B Thanks, MF

Cleaning Inside Windshield or Front Camera Lenses

Snagged an image from greentheonly's AP augmented reality view video. Looks like it's worse on that Model 3. Still, I think it'll be beneficial to clean the glass under the cover. Really hard to search for that, since most posts/videos are about covering the selfie cam so Elon doesn't...

On the highway: Unable to drive / Vehicle shutting down

FYI, Ohmmu has the procedure (from Telsa) documented on their site: https://www.ohmmu.com/model3install Accessing the penthouse under the rear seat is pretty easy.

On the highway: Unable to drive / Vehicle shutting down

If you supply 12V via the connector on the front bumper, will that charge the 12V battery? That would only be helpful in the case where something is wrong the power conversion units, and the car isn't charging the 12V battery on its own (so not a fault in the lead acid battery itself). The 9V...

Cleaning Inside Windshield or Front Camera Lenses

I was looking through some TeslaCam footage from the front camera, and found video recorded at night shows a lot of "flare" from other lights. I've attached a couple of examples. This image was taken while stopped at a red light. The flare is most visible in the brake lights of the vehicle in...
