    I have wished that an indicator lights up when we're running on some form of auto-steer/control mode. Mostly out of "See what I can do", but as a warning, as you mention, sounds like a good purpose also.

    The big fear is the counting. It seems very complicated when a mix of a large variety of options and underlying stock is involved. Do you know of a program/spreadsheet that would correctly calculate the new basis across trades of varying size? All the examples I have found involve very basic...

    BE CAREFUL! Schwab told me they only match up exact options on their "disallowed loss" display, but that is not what the tax law says, as far as I know. To be compliant, 30 days either side of the loss sale you can't have bought the security or its options. This is what I am using to control. I...
