    Drive Unit Replacement Frequency?

My December 2014 P85 with 18,316 miles had DU replaced April 2017. It died last Thursday and Tesla towed to SC. Just found out today it needs another DU with only 26,893 miles. I guess problem has not been fixed. Thank goodness for 8 year/unlimited mile battery and drive unit warranty.

21 inch turbine wheel crack survey

Cracked rim on my set of 21" grey turbines. This happened while having new tires installed at America's Tire. I went into the store on delivery day with bald tires but they held air. Got home after new tires install and next morning one tire was flat. I aired up the tire and drove back to...

Tesla adds a trip planner to their website

I sure hope they plan to add other battery capacities, tire size, etc. This is a lacking first attempt when compared to evtripplanner.com.

Supercharger - Sacramento, CA (LIVE 13 Oct 2017)

That is a shitty location. Traffic is horrible there. Getting in and out of that shopping mall is grid lock. Plus you better have a carry permit. Years ago (early 90's) I lived in South Natomas. It was sketchy then and has only gotten worse. There are better locations closer to down town.

    Non Tesla loaner vehicles

My appointment was for the drive unit replacement and service advisor could not guarantee I would get a Tesla loaner. I did receive a Tesla loaner. Very first time I had service done I opted to have Tesla bring me a loaner and pick up my Model S at work. To my surprise they brought an Audi...

    Non Tesla loaner vehicles

How many of you actually get an ICE when having service done on your Tesla? Is it just me? I find it insulting for the amount of money we paid for our vehicles that we have to drive an ICE when our vehicles are in for regular maintenance or in my case a drive unit replacement. Do I have too...

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

Upon doing research because my rear tires have wear on the inside I found this thread. Read all posts. I have concluded I need to have my rear toe checked. Many people posted the alignment specs as indicated in their owners manual. The current owners manual at 'My Tesla' does not have any...

    Bent Rims

Same for me. I apparently only bent my rear two rims. I was very surprised. I do not remember hitting any pot holes or debris to bend the rims. I am the only person that drives my car except one time. Tesla service came and picked up my car once. I am not saying the driver hit anything...

Two questions about the Summon feature

Yes it's on the first screen. Make sure you have the GPS turned on on your phone. Mine was off and I was going crazy trying to figure out why the summon button would not show up.

TACC with 7.0 - unexpected slowdowns

Happened again for me too. Today had TACC set (no autopilot) at 60mph on a 55mph roadway. Car slowed to 34mph for some time and I let it go this time. Finally went back to the 60mph. I was not following any route set through navigation. No other vehicles around me, I was alone on the road...

New 70 RWD or classic P85

It depends on the P85. There is nothing classic about my P85 delivered Dec 2014. It has all the "bells and whistles" and hauls ass.

TACC with 7.0 - unexpected slowdowns

I too have the same problem here in No. California. After seeing this thread I realized the issue is probably the new roadway. The roadway had a 90 degree turn that was "smoothed" out. You can see the photo I attached. To the left of the words 'Grand Line Road' you see the 90 degree turn...
