Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Day two has been a bit hit (or close to hit) and miss. It really has a hard time navigating parking lots even if they have lane lines, etc. Just too much going on - twice it just stopped for no reason and would not move forward with me disengaging it. Also, I find you have to be careful when...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Got the update and just took the car for a spin on FSD. Really a crazy experience - the car drives itself, which is obvious, but experiencing it in action is incredible. It mostly did fantastic on some tricky suburban streets. You absolutely have to pay full attention, but it is worth the...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Ok, home from dinner and now getting ready to set the alarm for 2am (I am on CT). Car is charging and wifi is full blast. Been waiting for this since forever.

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

I live in the suburbs of Chicago and although I was driving a lot, my score was 99 mostly because it is almost impossible to drive here without hard braking and "unsafe" following. This morning I got out on the highway very early and drove into Wisconsin at 50 mph in the center lane on AP while...

Update finished (late 2016 90D) - looking forward to the commute tomorrow to test everything out.

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

I have the recent update to 17.7.2 on AP2. Much improved! City street driving is significantly better and the car even made some good decisions on certain lanes that were not great on AP1 for the same stretch of road (a tricky intersection in Chicago). The highway driving is better too - less...

10 days in WI/IL/MI - zero Teslas at any supercharger

I drive IL to MI (and back again) very often and usually the St Joseph stop has one or two cars charging. It is a bottleneck if you look at the map of other chargers on a route to northern MI. So far no issue in finding a spot but on holiday weekends I am usually sharing a charger.

    Software Update Available! HW2 car!

HW2 90D Model S in Chicago. Got the software update last night and took the car for a spin on the highway today. I previously owned a Model S with AP1 that I traded in for the current Model S in December. Comparison to AP1 so far - it appears HW2 is 'hunting' more within the lane when using...

    Software Update Available! HW2 car!

My guess is that this is the shadow update that Musk referred to earlier. Just a little later. Tesla-time.

    Vibration In Steering Wheel

Interesting thread. I picked up a new Model S 90D (19" tires) two weeks ago and had my first highway driving yesterday. Had terrible shaking in the front over 70mph on the highway. Although I know it is not the actual issue, it felt like one of the wheels periodically would be unaligned on...

    New Model S with AP2

I traded in my 2014 85D for a 90D with AP2 last week. Funny to realize now how reliant I was on the AP1 especially during the traffic laden trips to and from my office (downtown Chicago). I did not think I would miss it that much in the short term, but wow, was I spoiled (and wrong). In the...

Steering wheel controls confirmed - "feels like a spaceship"!

For some reason I cannot upload the picture (thanks to anyone that is able to!), but if you look closely at those Franz sketches that were referenced (Musk posted one in the last 24 hours on Twitter), you can see the steering wheel is not a full circle and it appears to have some detail in the...

Consumer Reports is wrong about future reliability

Ugh. CR is just completely wrong. Long time reader on this board but not a frequent contributor - but I feel I need to write something. I have an early build car (3k VIN series or "classic" or "manual," if you will) and it has been flawless. A couple little issues that were all cleared by a...
