    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

I’m retired and live at the beach and don’t drive a lot but road-trip the model s a good bit. About 50k miles supercharged since owning this car. At 3 miles/kw efficiency at a blended rate of $.40 a kWh that’s around $6500. I’m a third of the way there. Also my S is perfect in every way. So if...

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

Since I exclusively supercharge my 85D with FUSC, I feel like I’m filling the piggy bank for the battery replacement when it comes. Love my car.

BMS-029 - Tesla Must Do Better

Interestingly I haven’t had home charging for the last 3 years. So it’s been supercharging only for the last 40k miles and I now have 83k miles. My car sits and slowly drains most of the time from about 75% down to 20% and then I supercharge again, rinse and repeat. Live in coastal area of...

BMS-029 - Tesla Must Do Better

2015 85D here with 85k miles and a march 2015 production date. Gonna keep driving it and hope for the best that I’m in a VIN with one of the improved battery designs that has some longevity. So far I’ve got minimal degradation. If push came to shove and it crapped out I wouldn’t hesitate to put...

2015 Model S Panoramic glass roof seal

Yep you won’t be able to repair a seal on a gen 1 roof, it will need to be upgraded to gen 2. You can tell which one you have by the location of the roof rack mounting caps.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I will say the latest update has slightly improved the charging curve in ideal situations (warm battery, 75 degrees outside) for the 85 pack. At the lower end of soc I’m see kWh + soc = ~120 and in the middle range of soc it’s now ~114. I’ll take anything I can get.

Tesla Offering $5,000 Trade-In Credit for "Classic" Model S

Free supercharging, free connectivity, a sunroof and rock solid AP1 makes my road trips way more fun than shaving a few minutes off of supercharging I have to pay for ;D

    Stolen J1772 Adapter

Resurrecting an old thread but this happened with my model s last night. With the car locked someone was able to remove the adapter while the car was charging. Very odd.

IRO Dashcam for AP1 doubts and questions

I have this Dashcam but it has been forever since I’ve connected to it to review video. I believe it is configured through the app. Also you may be able to google the install docs online. Great Dashcam.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I think you’ve got an AC issue. Traveled a few hundred miles yesterday supercharging twice in 95° weather and AC was ice cold the entire time. Also saw a real nice charging curve improvement with this update. staying in the soc + rate = 120+ until almost 50% soc. Was in the 130’s plus through...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

They did improve the charging curve on the 85 packs! Rolled into a supercharger with 7% and was at soc + kw = 135 then slowly began tapering keeping me in the 120s to 130s all the way until mid 50% when it went back to 110. Very nice and pleased to see. For some reason stats did pick up the...

Are we stuck with low supercharge 2015 s 85d?

Honestly this is the truth. For free I don’t mind waiting an extra 5-10 minutes to charge. Since I exclusively supercharge my 85D pays me about $200/month in free charging.

2015 Model S 85D - Fast charging rate at SuperCharger

Yep hot battery soc + kw rate = 110, warm batt it equals 100 and cold bat it equals 90. For example hot batt at 60% soc you’ll be getting approx 50 kw. I still have hope that at some point they will give us back some charging speed but I’m sure they are doing this for a reason and I’m fine with...
