Wall Connector or a second Gen 2 Mobile Connector

Why the 2nd mobile? What's wrong with using the one that came with your car? Check your electric company for any rebates, they might be able to cover a big chunk of the $. I vote HPWC simply cause it's a much more elegant solution. 48a is addictive too. Plus if you ever get Tesla #2 you can...

    Daily charging: Yo-Yo vs Min-to-Max?

Sometimes I leave and come back to the house multiple times throughout the day. So my SOC will be something like this if I didn't plug in once I got back: 80->60, 60->56, 56->40. Or some such combo. I've never been in danger of getting below 20% fwiw. Would you plug in as often as you can on...

Need veteran advice: 20 inch rims & winter tires?

Traction control is amazeballs on these cars. Just get some Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ Ultra High Performance All-Season tires unless you're constantly in deep snow. You could get a light weight forged 18 that clears the calipers. Sell the stock brand new OEM 20s/tires for ~$2k-3k to recoup the...

First time charging at home questions

A warm battery is a happy battery in regards to charging. A buddy of mine almost got stuck at a cabin in the woods a while back. All he had was 120v and with the car outside and cold the 120v was barely adding any charge at all even over night. He had to limp it to a SC several miles away.

    Best Way to Charge Overnight?

How much % do you use on your daily commute? That will tell you if you'd be okay with 'missing' a nightly charge session. I use 20% and set my limit to 80%. A couple times my charging has been interrupted and then stopped by minor 1-2 second power outages. I don't have charging notifications...

Ya'll got any more of them 48 amps?

It's a single bay side garage that holds all my yard crap and what not with no house entrance. Future spot for a Roadster 2.0? Hmmmm.

mount to ONLY hold end of home charger?

Bike water bottle holders seemed to be all the rage back when I was researching a mounting option. For now though the connector conveniently goes on top of the lawn chair I have stored propped up in the corner of my garage. HPWC soon to follow though

Ya'll got any more of them 48 amps?

:D The guy who I used his referral back in the day sent me his HPWC, I just had to cover shipping. Cha ching. When you finally get off your lazy butt and order all the necessary stuff 13 months later and your THHN 6 gauge arrives but can't wait till the weekend to do the proper install so...

Easier to avoid speeding tickets in Tesla?

95% of the time I'm driving 4-5 over in the slow lane and it's gloriously chill. What sucks are those rare moments where I can't handle my rage from a tailgater or cutter and next thing I know I'm doing triple digit speeds to get away from the dicks. The day I get pinched it won't be for a...

P3D crowd: Competing vs. high-performance ICE from a roll?

Ran a newer, healthy sounding 5.0 70-120mph. It was a draw.

Just Shredded Three Tires: Need Tire Recs ASAP!

Heavy car. Insta torque. It sucks. Cry once, drop the $1k every 1.5-2 years and just go on with life. I was at this point a month ago when my dear wife bent two of my 20"s. $1,500 later I'm rocking A/S 3+ and newly painted/fixed 20s :) YOLO!

    6 gauge splitter options?

So after way to much time spent in the aisle @ Home depot I came up with the following. I'm ditching the 90 degree elbows and the junction boxes. Dunno why I thought that would be a good idea for the transition between wall and attic. I'll using a conduit body for the 90 degree turns at the...

    6 gauge splitter options?

Small update I ordered 75" of 6 gauge THHN Red/Black + 10 gauge Green for ~$120 shipped off ebay. I only need about 40" for the first run, 60" total, but I'm getting extra just in case for wiggle room / miscalculation. I ditched the neutral for $ savings and in hopes EV#2 is a Tesla for load...
