Yes, it is a 2023 model based on the VIN. According to my calculation I think it was built in the last week of August.

Just as datapoint: I ordered on 9/3 and my date moved to Oct-Nov like everybody else but yesterday I got a vin and now delivery on Friday. Ultra red with 5 seats. The car just came from factory apparently. This is in Seattle. Transferring FSB as well.

I think the adapter is like for the cable charger kit and has the cut out like you say. It look different then the cable kit one so I guess I will ask tesla to order that as well.
