    2024 Insurance Costs

Thanks guys, perhaps I'll try Admiral multi car as well. My last year's LV multi car was about the same as ajmoor's Admiral one, although I have 2 very low mileage per year ICE's as well as the Model S.

    2024 Insurance Costs

Despite having 9 years NCB and rural, LV have just declined to insure my Model S again on my multi car policy! It seems they are no longer prepared to Tesla's. Looking back through posts on insurance I see that Direct Line are said to be Tesla 'Partner' insurers so I plan to give them a try...

    MCU2 upgrade for AP1 cost?

I just got a reply from Tesla Service. Unfortunately they say there is no SD card recall on my car, so if I want it replaced it will cot £215. At present I have not noticed any problems, either with navigation or the MCU, although I assume that changes in the highway layout since the 2019 update...

    MCU2 upgrade for AP1 cost?

No, no recall replacement. I'll ask about that. Thanks.

    MCU2 upgrade for AP1 cost?

Thanks again, mxnym. The MCU1 appears fine at the moment, excepting the Nav and drivers manual issues, one or both of which may not be down to the MCU. However, as you say, it might be kicking the can down the road to replace the SD card rather than go for the upgrade. I bought the car new more...

    MCU2 upgrade for AP1 cost?

Thanks mxnym, useful advice. If I have to keep paying out for SD cards for future nav updates, and other areas start giving problems as well, it would probably be worth me getting the MCU2 upgrade, plus radio upgrade as I use FM quite a lot. I haven't had a noticeable problem with slow nav...

    MCU2 upgrade for AP1 cost?

Nav update, EU-2022.40-12215 is stuck trying to upload in my my 2015 MS85 with MCU1. Also, none of the pages in the on screen drivers manual load. Is this likely to be an SD card problem or the EPROM running out of memory? Tesla have offered the MCU2 upgrade, or a cheaper option for the Nav...

    Intermittent charging problem

I've had a rather different charging problem for 3 years now on my 2015 MS85. Plugging in to my Tesla or Rolec wall chargers for instant charge it ramps up to 32amps no problem. But I always charge on scheduled charge (not scheduled departure) set for when my off-peak rate starts at midnight...

Homelink works as well now, but that may have been a separate issue - the eMMC replacement caused loss of Homelink in the first place, but failure to add my garage door to the Model S again may havre been an issue to do with training the receiver, now sorted out.

PS - By 'factory reset' are we talking about a soft reset - by pressing both scroll wheels on my 2015 Model S - or a hard reset, which seems to involve disconnecting the 12Volt battey as described by this rather useful blog on the subject...
