    2021 Owners....Deep rumbling noise?

I sometimes hear some fan sounds on my 2021 but I've never felt any vibration. If you are getting a vibration, it could be related to one of the fans being out of balance. I read in another thread that the balancing weights can sometimes fly off and make the fan imbalanced and it'll cause a...

Cracked rear glass, service center won’t cover under warranty:m. Options?

Yeah, that's a pretty obvious impact. I say go through insurance. Add up how much you've paid in premiums over the years yet most of us rarely "use" what we are paying for. So I don't feel "bad" when I ask them to cover something once in a while. Mike

    Model 3 Performance runs a 10.58 1/4 mile.

I agree. I looked up the airport on Google Maps and I can only detect two pieces of equipment set up on the runway forward of the starting point: one at 600 ft and the second at 1200 ft. The video is not great WRT technical precision and being able to "discover" stuff so maybe I messed up...

Charging Questions for Possible M3SR[+] Owner.

Never know unless you try. If I was renting to someone, I'd say yet because I know that installing a 240 in the garage would increase the curb appeal of the home. The worst I might do is say, "I'll agree to that but I will have to pick the electrician and get an estimate. At that point, you...

Charging Questions for Possible M3SR[+] Owner.

To me, the "middle ground" isn't as good as the endpoints. I've been in your position: not wanting to have to "fool with" an electrician installing stuff and instead, looking for workarounds. So try the 120 for a while and see how it works. If it's not enough, have an outlet installed in the...

US 2021 Tesla Model 3 boombox [missing due to being on factory firmware version]

Got my M3LR AWD on the 21st. It came with 2020.47.104. Still on 2020.47.104 as of now. Chatted with them yesterday just to be sure the car is communicating as it should. They had me do the two button reset, then power the car off, wait 2 minutes, and power it back on. Said everything looked...

Charging Questions for Possible M3SR[+] Owner.

Dryer Buddy and feeding the EVSE cable through the wall is an option, but once you get an EV (basically any EV), you'll likely not want an ICE car after that so my suggestion is spend the money to have a 14-50 installed in the garage like others are saying. If you have an open breaker spot in...

New Model 3: slight flickering of screen on startup

After closer inspection, the screen was reducing very slightly in brightness with each little "blink". So it's definitely the auto brightness doing its thing in steps. As long as I know that's what it is... no reason to turn it off. Mike

    Model 3....embarrassing moment

I can't come close to your story but every time I go back to my car in a parking lot, it's a bit embarrassing. About half the time, the door won't open. At that point, step one is to turn around and face away from the car and put my butt near the B pillar. Sometimes that works. If it...

New Model 3: slight flickering of screen on startup

I noticed a very slight flicker on the screen when I first enter my Model 3, press the brake, and enter my PIN code. The screen slightly reduces in brightness for I'd guess maybe 20ms and repeats about every 2 seconds. It continues for maybe 15-20 seconds in that cycle and then all is OK. I...

    Enhanced summon failure warning

Hope the repairs aren't too costly and you get it fixed quickly. I don't think I'd ever use summon. I just don't think parking lots are a place for a car to be moving with no driver unless the lot is (almost) empty. There are too many factors you need a human for. For example, as I'm going...

    Longer sentry retention?

It was my understanding that the rolling 60 minutes is how the "Recent" clips folder is handled and you should still have older sentry clips in the "Sentry" folder. Haven't tried it but that's what I read when trying to figure out what the system would do when the USB card is full. Mike

Before I screw up my Model 3 in the car wash...

No. Was about all I could do to wash it and wax it in one day. Not getting any younger as they say. :) Just wanted to get some protection on it. Plus I was afraid to "take off" any paint given how thin it looks. I've never used a clay bar so maybe down the road I'd take it to someone and...

Before I screw up my Model 3 in the car wash...

Finished the wax and having gone over every inch of the car, I noticed two things. First, when I've applied the same wax on my other cars, they are always "slick as snot": the dry bugging cloth would slide down the hood no problem. The Tesla paint is definitely "different". It's still slicker...

2021 Model 3 LR broke down and wouldn’t drive

Wow, really looking forward to that with my 9 day old 2021. OK, seriously, let's hope it's a rare thing. If it happened to me, I'd be super bummed but probably the best thing is to let service handle it and see what they can do for you. Mention any other things (like gaps) and let...
