Back in version 8 and below, it wasn't laggy. Starting with version 9 you can see how laggy everything is because of the unneeded animations meant for MCU2. Version 9 and above were made for newer cars; they didn't even bother changing the Driving tab icon!(The icon shows a Model 3).

It's not good for AP1 cars; version 8 was the peak of features (besides for games) for AP1. If you have the newer autopilot, then yes, the new software updates are good.
Looking back at version 6, the user interface was beautiful.

How do you know Tesla got negative feedback about version 9? Tesla probably don't read these forums so our complaints are not seen.
